Damn I thought I was the only person that ever had to deal with this. This year, the second week of June, I was diagnosed with both. My doctor was cool as hell and was very open-minded as far as "treating" the diseases went.
What do I mean by that? Well, he prescribed enough sleeping pills so that I'd sleep 16 hours a day for 5 weeks, and I went in for a vitamin IV thrice weekly during that time.
I took about 10 days away from running altogether out of prudence. Then, I resumed my mileage exactly where I left off, except I basically jogged every day.
Everything worked out fine. However, my schedule was as follows. Take sleeping pill, sleep 8 hours, wake up, pound a coffee, run, take next sleeping pill, sleep 8 hours, wake up, eat, take sleeping pill, sleep 8 hours, pound sleeping pill, run; continue this damn cycle for over a month.
It wasn't much of a life, but it was okay. Thankfully I'm still a student and my boss at my internship understood the fact that I had to be away for quite awhile.
Hope that helps. PS......get the biggest, most potent sleeping pills you can find man. Sleeping pills provide forced, necessary recovery.
