I think if LSU can make it to the MNC game then they will win. The trouble is getting there. Bowl records don't matter in the SEC, it's national championship or nothing. We have a new tiger cub this year and that will bring us to victory.

usc is the class of college football, but they do have to play as a team and have to show up every week. losing two pac 10 games last year showed some vulnerability. psu has the ability to win the big ten having nd, osu, wisconsin and iowa at home. playing at michigan will decide if they're national contenders or just big ten contenders. they'd do just fine against the sec. in fact, didn't the big ten go 2-1 in bowl games against the sec last year? usc might be another story. i'll go against the grain a little and predict a psu-wvu national title game. whoever gets there needs a little luck along the way as one loss usually eliminates you unless you can whine to the voters and get placed in the title game (nice work urban meyer) how many pricks coach in the sec? urban's one of them. les miles is a moron. how about nick saban? spurrier? yeah, i'm sure nothing fishy's going on down south. usc's clean too... cha-ching

When did they move the Cotton Bowl stadium to Austin?
I quickly looked at Texas' schedule and saw the Oklahoma game wasn't "at" and figured it was a home game. I wasn't thinking for some reason, that one's a neutral site game like the UGA/UF game. It still isn't a road game. My original thesis stands: Texas has a good chance to run the table based on their schedule and talent level.

That'll work too.
We will own the BCS this year!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
No one in the country has what Southern California has these days. Unbelievable talent all over the field and one of the best coaches in the game.
We're Arkansas people, but I gotta tell ya, I don't believe anyone is really close to the Trojans this year. But I picked them last year, the year before that and the year before that, and....well, I've been picking them just about every year since the year before Pete won the first title. It's a safe bet.
Of course, anything can happen and usually does happen, so we'll see.
No one in the Big East goes undefeated. Brohm is so overrated, I can't believe he is getting so much hype. The only way Rutgers makes a decent run is if they bench Teel and start Jabu Lovelace. I can see Rutgers losing 3 games. Doubt it though.
WVU will lose to Maryland on September 13. Maryland will be pumped, playing a Thursday night home game in front of a packed house in College Park.
I'm not going to argue that Carroll is a good coach at USC. But......how could you not have great teams with the talent you have at USC?

To Dauby & Flagpole, the Ohio State apologists: How's the Big Ten going to finish this year?
Man, how do I get linked with Dauby? I'm nothing like him. I told him last year he should temper his assuredness because you just never know what would happen in the big game.
I think LSU has a good shot. USC also has a good shot. In the Big Ten, on paper and when looking at the schedule, Michigan looks to be the best. They have a great shot at ending the regular season undefeated. They do that, and they are likely in the championship game.
Too many bumps in the road for my beloved Buckeyes. AT Washington will not be a walk in the park. AT Purdue will be tough. AT Penn State is never easy. AT Michigan is tough. Wisconsin will be a tough game. Ohio State just lost too many great players from last season. Ohio State has enough talent so that if a game or two just goes their way they could end up playing Michigan as an undefeated team, but I think that won't happen. 3-4 losses this year for Ohio State would not be a surprise. More than that would be. 1 loss or less would be a surprise. I think 2-3 losses is probably where thye will end up.

If I made this a top 20 list, then Louisville gets in there. Brian Brohm is an NFL lottery pick next year.
perhaps one of the stupidest posts I've seen in a while. This is a guy who simply has no idea what he's talking about.
Sadly, I see USC winning it all this year. If WVU could do ANYTHING on the defensive side of the ball, I would say they have a chance, but if they make it past L'ville and get to the title game, USC would have more trouble against air than that D.
Michigan also has a chance to get to the title game, due to a weak Big 10, but I just don't see them winning the title until Lloyd Carr leaves. He's just too far behind the times and not innovative/risk-taking enough to compete.
Va Tech is grossly over-rated - I am a Bulldog fan and watched them in person at the Peach Bowl and it was pathetic. There D was not even that great, basically stats wise they look great but it's the ACC! Offense is abysmal and Glennon is horrible.
Texas and Oklahoma are over-rated, as well as the entire Big-12. People say that the win for Boise State said a lot about the BState program, when in reality it said much more about how bad Oklahoma was. I've seen Boise State in person also, and they look like high school kids compared to legit 1-A powerhouses. Oklahoma should have blown them out.
Florida (and I really hate to say this) has a very good chance to repeat. They will lose one game this year, but despite the fact Tebow will suck going downfield, there are simply way too many athletes on offense to help him out. If their defense is pretty good (which it always is due to the ridiculous recruiting classes) they will be right there.
Ahhh the return of college football--the greatest time of the year....every year.
What is my predictions for the Big 10 this year you ask?
First--Rutger will not be in the Top 15. Ray Rice will not be as good without Brian Leonard blocking for him. Every dog has their day--and Rutgers had theirs.
Now--back to the Big 10. I think Michigan will take the title. Wisconsin will not be as good as everyone in the conference thinks. I say they get 3-4.
However, my Darkhorse for the season--call me bias if you like...THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
Why you ask??
Well, unlike the past couple of seasons where Ohio State's schedule was tough as nails--this year is much different. Ohio State finally has a manageable, easy schedule.
This will give all the new guys time to get used to play. Todd Boekman (QB) will benefit most from this--his confidence will grow with his talent. Ohio State's first big test is week 9 @ Penn State. If Boekman isn't ready to run the offense then, he never will.
OSU will also benefit to having Wisconsin at home--and seem to have a handle on Michigan as of recent.
If Ohio State can pull the upset against Michigan (which they can) and play well against Penn State & Wisconsin, you will be seeing my Ohio State Buckeyes in the NC Game for a third time in 6 years.
And I haven't picked a NC winner yet--it's too early. If I had to today, I'd pick USC.
Sidenote: The Big East is crap--UL, WVU, Rutgers are only mentioned because they play in a B-League.
Wow, this is a guy who knows what he is talking about. Very well said.
Dauby,
I agree with you about Rutgers. I disagree about Ohio State though. At Washington could be a problem. At Purdue could be a problem. At Penn State WILL be a problem. I don't think the schedule is as easy as you do. They could have a lucky bounce or two and get to the Michigan game unscathed, but I think that's a long shot.
Of course I HOPE the Buckeyes win it all, and it COULD happen (Beanie Wells is a stud and could have a Maurice Clarett-like season), but I don't think it WILL happen.
Ok, I stand corrected on the lottery, NBA has it, NFL doesn't. My bad; let's move on
Brohm is the 1st QB taken in next year's draft. Tell me who's a better QB, Colt Brennan, Chad Henne?
USC
They live out there in La la land playing no body all season. I'm sure they'll be there in the end, even if they have a loss.
Dude, Brohm isn't even the best QB in the state of Kentucky. UK has a better QB.
Get your head out of Brohm's ass. He is not that good.
Let's see how how both do on Sep 15th. Rivalry game, bragging rights, etc.
