The Clintons don't believe in anything so they really can't be either Liberal or Conservative. They are just political animals.

Don't let it bother you, man. Liberals are just stupid turds. The sooner you realize this, the less time you'll waste thinking about them, and the better off you'll be!
Wow, Kieth, that sure was a mature deep nuanced assessment!

This is true. They will momentarily believe in whatever will win votes at that particular moment.
As far as the liberals using "hate and fear" to their advantage, the Republicans mastered this tactic years ago when they were able to convince Americans whose self-interests were Democratic to switch to their side. The many millions of middle and lower middle class who were alienated from the radical elemants of Liberalism that were around in the 1960's.
Vote Republican for solid family values and a kick-ass Military and pull yourself up with your bootstraps.

The recent nasty style politics of hatred were started by the Republicans and their crusade to bring down Bill Clinton. It was furthered by Karl Rove and his rumor-mongering that John McCain had a black baby, was insane, etc. That continued in 2004 when John Kerry's military record, including 3 purple hearts, was somehow used by the right as a negative, while the draft-dodging chicken-hawk administration was somehow seen in a positive light.
The fact that you think Hillary started this means you are either incredibly young, or incredibly stupid. Possibly both.
You need a deeper history file.
The way republicans act didn't start with Karl Rove or the great right wing conspiracy. Go back to Nixon and his dirty tricks squad, and the smear against Ed Muskie. Remember that the same party that gave us the campaign to smear Bill Clinton also gave us Sen. Joe McCarthy.
NONE of what has happend under GWB (including lying about the war) is new. It's just that Ronald Reagan put a "nice" face on it. But like the Chancellor in Star Wars, republicans can't keep a nice face on it forever. They play to less educated (see exit polls) less intelligent redneck types, and they thrive off hate. They hated FDR, social security, commies, liberals, China, terrorists, Saddam Hussein, liberals again, now I guess it's global warning now that they hate...it's always somebody else that they hate. Because. otherwise, they's would have to take a close look at themselves and the poor choices that they've made in their own lives.
Hillary is actually too liberal for my taste. But just look at the campaign against Giuliani.
Dirty tricks, and smear campaigns are used by all political parties. Remember it was Al Gore who brought up Willie Horton. It was also the Dems that ran adds stating if the republicans won than black churches would burn. Both parties are good at attacking.

Hillary is hardly a liberal, yet alone a rabid liberal.
But the right-wing propaganda machine has brainwashed Americans into thinking that solidly right-wing positions are "middle of the road".
Are you kidding?
Hillary is the closest thing to a true European socialist in Washington today.
Touche.
I think YOU are Karl Rove reincarnated.
Every single thing you are accusing specific democrats of is what karl and some of the worst mudslingers in political history have used as their signature slandering.
Your piece is devoid of rational thought.
This is another one of those threads that proves more Americans need to get a passport and use it.
I hardly know any Democrats that are progressive. That's the key word, not liberal.
Liberal, in my mind, is a word now associated with status quo politics, the continuation of the growth machine and militarism. Carefully read the writings of Obama, Hillary and others, and you'll see what I mean.
Their propaganda is intended to make people believe they represent something radically different, when the cold, sobering fact is they do not.
At least with the GOP you know what you're getting. Growth, environmental destruction, war, corporatism and the interdigitation of business and government to the degree they are barely distinguishable from one another.
Real progressives, the real left, aren't looking to Washington for answers, because real democracy happens in your community, not in some centralized vacuum ruled by stodgy old white guys in suits.
If there's any chance for government to work in this nation, you need a viable third party. And that may not work because of all of the forces lined up against it.
Otherwise, you can forget it.
I've quit looking to Washington for answers. In fact, I'd say Washington has never provided any answers for the common person in this country, much less the needy. Just look at the Constitution. The Constitution of the united States of America was a document created by elite, wealthy property owners in an attempt of keep the government of the united States out of the hands of the filthy rabble of the common people. They feared popular rule and guarded against democracy at every turn. The "checks and balances" of the constitution were designed to check popular rule and to keep the government from being taken over by populists and used as a tool against elite privilege and control.
