Distance WRs are virtually never broken in championship races. Bekele will definitely be more concerned with winning, and the heat and humidity of Osaka plus the lack of anyone to pace him would make a WR impossible even if he wanted to try for it
Haha, I'd say there's about a 0% chance of this happening, but it would be pretty funny to watch. Imagine if it was just him and against the clock and all the other competitors were just mere sidenotes at a world championship race. That would be legendary.
