I'm not a right winger and I don't like the daily show that much. Not sure how that fits into your world view. It's okay for a laugh here and there but it's gotten rather formulaic. A little pun for a headline here. A highly edited clip from CNN with John Stewart asking rhetorical questions in between soundbites there and voila! you have yourself a "genius" tv show.

anyone who doesn't like the office is crazzzzzzzy. same with anyone who doesn't like the daily show(or the colbert report), although if you are a crazy right wing conservative i can see you not liking it. silly conservatives. anyway, the office is easily the best show on tv. the episode this week was hilarious.
I love the office, but the daily show and colbert report are just stupid. The REALLY funny part of both is that's where most 15-30 year old liberals get their news. Nice.
Thanks for being a homophobe you ignorant c***.
I think they're two very different animals, the American version versus the British. I cut my teeth on the original, and became hugely devoted to it. Was highly skeptical of the American version, but slowly grew to love it for different reasons.British version: high level of realism, awkwardness; more emotionally real; acting choices pushed toward restraint, subtlety; the result is a show that delivers a lot of the honest monotony of a real office, and when the punchlines and comedy come, they're devastatingly effective.American version: a few degrees east of the reality feel of the original, but still a lot more "real" feeling than tradish sitcoms; humor is geared more towards bigger laughs, more consistently ridiculous situations and reactions; the actors are pushed towards "bigger" performances in places (Angela, Dwight, Michael); the result is a show that--if it matches your particular comedy radar--probably makes you laugh more consistently than the original, but doesn't feel as substantial. But to call it shit is maybe overstating it, wouldn't you say?I love 'em both for different reasons. And the American Office is my favorite show on TV right now...I'm not afraid to admit that.

Very well said, sealpuppet. Couldn't agree with you more on each and every point.

Does anyone else find Creed to be the funniest guy on the show?
He's my favorite as well. I love his randomness.

I'm seriously thinking of ordering that shirt!
I can't believe that nobody mentioned that Dwight tortured and killed a cat by sticking it in a freezer. Maybe that's "edgy" humor, but I thought that was a little sick. On the other hand, I loved that Toby actually knows about nipple bleeding, takes precautions, but still has a whole bloody chest in a 5k race.
I believe it has also been show to be a more accurate news source than Fox News. And, considering I gave up on CNN after 2 weeks of continuous Anna Nicole Smith coverage, I would place both the Daily Show and the Colbert Report above CNN.See, the value is that these comedy shows pick out the important stuff and make fun of it. So, if you are intelligent enough to get the joke, you can absorb all the important pieces of news without enduring CNN's hours and hours of, oh my God, Britney Spears lost custody of her children coverage.

I thought stephen colbert was a conservative?

I totally disagree. The british version is funny - but it's more tongue-in-cheek. The brit's are up there saying "ha ha - aren't we funny". The american actors actually believe they are these characters.
My favorite line from this episode: "I've never eaten more fetticine alfredo and drank less water in my life."
The look on his face - with the throw-up dripping down his face as his employees akwardly clap for him is one of the funniest things i've seen in a long time.

Yea - and studies have shown that viewers of the daily show are more informed than viewers of fox news. What does that say?
It's not a question of where they get their news...Stewart and Colbert present news items in a humerous manner that makes viewers want to go learn about the issues.. that is why viewers of these programs are better informed and more involved in politics and the world they live in...It's about connecting politics to the people...
What study was that?
oooooooooooooooh
Even if you hate the office saying that the people (i.e. Steve Carell) are has beens is a bit off base. Steve Carell was great in the 40 year old virgin and Little miss sunshine.

That wasn't Toby -- that was Andy. Toby won the race, which was conveniently staged to end 5 kilometers away from the office.
Did anyone note the caliber of the weapon Dwight used to start the race?
