I saw them live when i was in boone, they play a mean show and the violinist is so hot!
Would 30 Seconds from Mars count? Jerrad Letto played steve prefontaine and he is the lead singer...
lead singer was a world youth steeplechaser
It's old school, but I seem to remember the drummer from Goo Goo Dolls being featured in Runner's World back in the 90's for being a runner/marathoner.
"Brady has also been ranked nationally as a long-distance runner and in 2002 completed the Chicago Marathon in 2:27:01."
Paul McCartney apparently gets the equivalent to a 2 hour run when he does concerts...anyone else remember that article?
There is no such thing as an "equivilant" to a 2 hour run. You have to run 2 hours.
Tim Archibald, a Boston guy, is an incredible guitarist. He played with Peter Wolf, and also ran a sub-2:30 marathon.
Great guy too - I trained with him for a year.

There is no such thing as an "equivilant" : it's equivalent
Actually, I think the drummer featured in RW was in Hootie and the Blowfish, not the Goo Goo Dolls, which is not nearly as cool.
Their lead singer is Brendan O'Keefe's(3:41 guy) little brother. I got a cd from him in belgium and I actually find myself listening to it quite a bit. They might be a runner band that makes it.

I dislike both bands, but Hootie and the Blowfish is light years cooler than the Goo Goo Dolls.
The guys in Hootie are just normal people, 2 of them live in my neighborhood. I see them all the time and they are not even close to pretending they are rockstars. They have normal houses, cars, lives, kids.
The guys in Goo Goo Dolls seem to me like they are always trying to look like big rock stars.
Look for yourself, I would rather hang out with the guys from Hootie.

LOL, you are right, look at these guys.
Notre Dame guys including a 3:59 miler (J. Watson) and a 3:47 1500 guy (Adams). 4 runners in a 5 piece band.
I don't believe any of it. Distance runners aren't cool enough to be in rock bands.
One of the guys from Barenaked Ladies was a runner, I think Middle Distance.I think it might be Jim Creeggan who ran the 800
