I'm considering attending an MBA program in Johannesburg South Africa.
Does anyone have insight on job prospects in the USA for an overseas MBA program?
Will this hender or aid my return on investment?
Any Wits alumni out there?

No idea. But I would contact HR departments of reputable or big companies. Before getting into my (domestic) MBA school, I asked them to confirm the school's credibility. Really, who better to ask than HR departments?
Get your degree ONLINE with an American school.
that city is GHETTO. highest crime rate in the world!!!!!
I have degrees from both SA and the US; my impression is that graduate degrees in the US are very strong. I learned more in my Ph.D. in the US than I would have in SA. Also, employers seem to prefer institutions in their own country because they are more familiar with them and don't have any uncertainty regarding their standards. Business is not my field, but would there be some parts of your studies pertaining to law, etc? Some laws are very different in different countries. I do know that the Chartered Accountant exam is quite different from the CPA.
If you had said that you wanted to work in various countries, that would change things... but if you are sure that you want to work in the US, I would bet that you'd be better off studying in the same country. You can always take a vacation in SA... but there are much nicer places than Johannesburg...
and yes, of course, check with your HR dept, that's a good idea.
