CAN a hs kid ask a dumb question? From the US point of view , who are the good guys, the Sunni's or the Shiites?? IF they get in a fight with each other, who do we help, or what do we do to get them to stop?

Osama Bin Laden played Bush like a puppet. Gambleputty you are living in a complete fantasy world. We are more hated then ever and yes according to intelligence reports Al Quada is as powerful as ever but we have less middle east allies.
We have less influence and loyal allies throughout the world.
Bush's foreign policy is ALL bad. He's as proven himself to be a good snake oil salesman but totally incompetent in foreign affairs. Bad combination.

so true.. bin laden is Ali and w is Foreman... we are being rope a doped and "sucka'd" just like they wanted. instead of fighting and winning in afghanistan like we should have we let the neocons fantasyland game run amuk.
and by the way gambleputty, the 700,000 killed is the only peer reviewed scientific assesment to date and is accepted virutally everywhere but in faux news land. even our allies military forces acknowledge and accept the lancet study.

I'll field that one.
At first they were all "good guys" (except for Saddam, his sons and a few "deadenders"), who were going to all greet us as liberators. Then....
The Insurgents fought back and teamed up with foreign terrorists, and since the Sunnis made up most of the insurgents and Saddam sympathizers (he was a Sunni) the Sunnis were the bad guys for the most part.
Then Shiite death squads started killing and torturing all sorts of Sunnis, and rival Shiites, and even killing US troops, and Shiites like al Sadr led militias against us. Also, Iran grew in strength, and many Shiites are extremely cozy with them. Therefore, the Shiites became bad guys too, and we started arming Sunnis against them, the same Sunnia who used to kill our soldiers. Great huh?
So now they are both bad guys. But of course according to Bush, it is really Al Q that is the enemy, and who is causing all the trouble. Get that???

Al Qaeda.
Yes, but the gambleputty's of the world will never accept the facts on this. And they will continue to see all those we fight as the Al Queda terrorists who attacked us.
maybe most logical, even-minded people don't define success the way you, Hannity, Limbaugh and Bush do? Bush looked as ridiculous in his top gun jump suit on the aircraft carrier and the 'mission accomplished' banner, as republicans made Dukakis look riding in the tank.

Another great article pointing out the obvious. Yes, mistakes were made at the start of the war. Yes, mistakes are ALWAYS made at the start of a war. No, that doesn't mean the war should be abandoned. History can't simply be ignored to suit your own opinion.
Why is the Left so unwilling to admit that obvious signs of progress have been made since Patreaus took command? The more they deny it the more guilty they look of playing politics
That's hilarious. If a million Iraqis had died, and 10,000 of our soldiers were now dead, and the war had cost 10 trillions $'s instead of the 1 trillion it has cost so far, you'd STILL be saying: "shit happens, wars are tough, give Bush a break." There is a reason you call yourself "the believer" - you'd believe in Bush and his war NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED. You are a true believer, and nothing can change your mind, and YOU are lecturing US on having an open mind and not being able to admit the "obvious" ??? You do realize that every year during the war, the same people on the right have said the same things: 'the war is getting better, the insurgency is in its last throes, major combat operations are over, we've turned a corner, the casualty count went down last month, this is the beginning of the end of the war, Iraq politicians are getting their act togeter, ' etc etc etc. And has ANY of it come true??? No, not a single bit of it.
You have to be a troll, you can't be serious. (but good satire of the blind Bush followers. You had me there for awhile, thinking you were for real).

but now comes the war against the Kurds! remember them from last summer? they were the province running ads touting how good things were there and the faux crowd was foaming at their 'success'... only now it seems we might actually have to fight them too... oh darn...
"We are making progress"?
A lie told many times DOES NOT become the truth.
Iraq is in flames.
Iraq is in a mess.
Iraq is a quagmire.
Iraq is lost. It is over! It is sad but true.
Iraq is careening-like the Titanic on the morning of April 15th 1912.
If we exit now or next year, woe unto us! It'll go up in flames-more furious flames! a bonfire.
If we pull out in 10 years, woe unto us! The situation will just be the same if not worse. So, what should we do?
There is no solution.
The point is that we should not have gone in! It is that simple. Regrettably, we didor at least, George W. led us into this mess. Being led by a bunch of incompetent dimwits, what would one expect?
I don't even know why anyone (including myself) is discussing this issue.
Invading Iraq was NOT a mistake. It was a BLUNDER of monumental proportion.
Back it up ! If you really believe your own B.S., join the U.S. Army or if you've already served in Iraq, re-up and go to Iraq again. Too old ? They need truck drivers to haul supplies, you can join Halliburton. Or are you a coward, a Chicken Hawk ?
You can support something without being directly involved in it. Do you support abortion? Then back that B.S. up and kill some babies!
Typical bullshit. Fake cowards like Rush Limbaugh love to take drugs, jackoff, and lie up a big Rambo story. You are a coward and a phony, unless you back it up. We know your type, we see you on T.V. everyday, Bush, Cheney, Thompson, Giuliano, all huge blabbermouths who never served in the miltary
The truth is Bush was right all along. He took the fight to the enemy and the results are starting to show. History will remember Bush as the president who understood what it took to defeat this kind of enemy and won the greatest fight of all time.
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
Did you fail to se my point? Politicians being cowards has nothing to do with what I was saying. I was demonstrating that you can have a view on something without being a direct participant in it. You are just like those people that ask a person's PRs after they comment on a race. You act as if a person had to have 7 purple hearts to manage a war.
Your arguments are invalid. You are a coward and a fake patriot if you blab all day about war and won't fight in Iraq. Politicians who blab all day like Rambo who never served are fakes. They are huge fools to be out there yapping away. It's embarrassing to their families to have Chicken Hawks spouting endless bullshit. YOU ARE A COWARD TOO ! A YELLOW BELLIED WIMP ! YOU SHOULD HIDE AND NOT COME OUT ! HOW CAN ANYONE BE SUCH A WIMP LIKE YOU !
Why did you change your name to Invalid SLAL? Pussy!
At least join the Air Force or the Navy, few get killed, it's what people do to pad their resumes if the plan on getting into politics later in life.
Coward ! You never served ? How about the Grirl Scounts, the Brownies (not Brown U.) ? Yale Cheerleaders ? 4H Club ? FFA ? College band ? They is badddd too, homes !
Bush's spin doctors are lying to extend the war until his regime is out of office. Osama or Billary will get stuck with cleaning up Bush and Blair's 'Christian Crusade Against Islam'. And who has to pay the bill, us U.S. taxpayers. That louse Bush floated bonds to Red China to pay for Israel's war.
Why even argue? We all know it isn't winnable. Whether it's because it is truly impossible or just because we aren't all in support of the war -- it doesn't change the outcome.
Look, the US is gonna throw money at this losing cause until at least 09. Then, assuming one of your general candidates (hillary, barrack, rudy, thompson) wins in 08, then we'll continue with it until '12. At this point, one ofthree tings will happen: we'll either have another attack on US soil or we'll have invaded another country (maybe Sudan, maybe Iran, maybe Syria, maybe Pakistan) and the war effort will be kicked up and continue for another decade or so. If neither of those events happens -- and we just kinda have a period like we're having in 04-07 where it's just an OBVIOUS waste of time and money, then I think we'll elect someone who will pull us out.
So there you have it. Ron Paul 2008 or stay in Iraq until probably 2012 (MINIMUM).
