ummmm....
a. wtf is a 7 mile pr???
b. meb didn't get "rolled" -
I'm guessing the poster knows that Meb has run that course before and that is his fastest time. Choose to be positive. "Use nice words to solve your problems."

I am kind of new as a fan, I guess, but just exactly what is meant by "getting rolled".

I was about to ask that myself. It must be some sort of pimply-faced tough-guy code? -
getting beat by 11 seconds is NOT getting rolled as you put it. sounds like he was in it until the last mile or less?
yeah, he must suck if he only got 4th (sarcasm alert). -
I ran Bix this morning. Pretty good weather this year! (Especially when compared to last year) I saw Meb go by on the out-and-back about 6th or 7th place at a little less than 4 miles into the race. Wouldn't say he got rolled if he finished 11 seconds back in 4th place...?
Chip timing was a welcome addition this year! Results were posted in a couple hours instead of a couple days. I actually stopped at a rest stop on my way home and checked out the results. Great stuff! Thanks Bix for a great race! I'll be back for my 8th running next year. -
GREAT RUN by Mebrahtom!
-
props to smyth. junior(?) at notre dame. 2nd youngest in the top 25, 6th american

The Bix 7 is the best road race in the United States. The great people of the Quad Cities come out every year and support it. Ask any elite runner and they will tell you they are treated like kings and queens. What a Race! Thanks Quad Cities!

D3's Kyle Brady of North Central finishes 34th. Great Job Kyle!

Pretty good for a guy whose best event is a marathon.

Bryan Glass Baby!!! - Mr. Negative Split

(18:08, 17:28)
20th place overall
4th American -
Anyone notice Chris Hayek a 16 year old, from prospect il ran 36:27.
-
I always thought "getting rolled" was passing out drunk and being mugged in that state. Happens in the Quad Cities all the time.
-
Getting rolled generally means you were in contention in a race until you fade off and finish out of the top 3. In this instance, Meb got rolled. If he doesn't want to get rolled in the future, he needs to run a little faster.

Not a bad run by Adams, either. -
Meb was in a pack that was trailing the top 3 guys at about 4 miles - he bridged that gap of 20m and actually worked his way into 2nd until they came off Brady St. downhill onto the flats on 3rd St., when Nyariki and Karim started kicking. He said afterward he just doesn't have those kind of wheels right now. He's racing B2B and Falmouth the following 2 weekends, so that should give a better indicator of what kind of shape he's in.
-
Great run by Meb. Maybe Ritz should be running races like Bix, Falmouth, etc.
-
See Meb is running Bix, Beacon, and Falmouth three weeks in a row, then supposedly going to Europe for a 10k. Any bets on whether he makes it to Europe?
