VanDeHey was a senior, he is done.

Too bad really came out of nowhere in track last year thought maybe he would be back..ran a gutsy race at conference albeit a messed up race
you heard it here first. joe king will be all conference in cross this year. hillyard will bring it out of him, and he will be a key factor in the USI title defense.
not a chance...chokes in basically every big race he is in...he'll do the same here
when has he had a team to run with? usi's so deep and talented that they could have their top 5 run as a pack and finish top 12. he'll just get pulled along and not have to make any of the moves we've come to expect from him.
you may very well be right...but from knowing him he tends to not allow himself to run with a team...he is very himself orientated and does not like his teammates to be around him...he runs more for himself than he does for a team...i hope that he proves me wrong...he is a very talented runner..but im just saying what i know
you know, after i posted that last comment, i did what many intelligent people do: i looked up past results from the glvc's. in doing this, i noticed he has never finished remotely close to the top ten... or even top 20. either way, if he does get all conference, you still heard it here first. i will say, top 15 should not be a shock.
this is true..i think that VanDeHey has had their highest finish in cross in the recents years and that was only around 30th
And that statistic alone should tell you that a change of surroundings may be all that Mr. King needs.
point taken. that was the foundation for my statements from the very beginning. i was just wrong about what i thought he'd accomplished at st joe's, which made me second guess it.
and just how good is nku? knapp was 11th as frosh of the year, 26th as a soph, 17th as a junior. usually the freshman of the year ends up challenging for the title within a couple years, but he hasn't been the case. i know he's been running a ton of miles this summer. could we see him up at the front of the pack?
i think that if knapp can stay healthy he will be able to be a top 10 guy...he has been hurt the past few years...also he was runner-up in the steeple his frosh year..when boyle ran him down in the final stretch...he is definately talented
i disagree about king though...from what people who were on his team say...he doesnt' like to put in much effort and prefers to rely on natural ability(i.e. doesn't train in the offseason)...hopefully he changed that if he wants to even make USI's top ten

thirdly, the school is a racewalking school....nuff said
Parkside is not a racewalk school. There are only going to be two members of the women's team who will be racewalking. The rest of the 30+ members of the men's and women's teams are runners.

racewalking isnt even a sport
Like we haven't heard that a billion times. Racewalking has been in the Olympics since 1908.
Bump... GLVCs this weekend, any predictions?
My picks for top 6:
1) Southern Indiana
2) UMR
3) NKU
4) Drury
5) Lewis
6) SIUE
1. Southern Indiana - too much up front, too much depth
2. Northern Kentucky - veterans will come through
3. Mo Rolla - a very, very close 3
4. Lewis - always run well at conference...sat a few at Border Wars (Khamo, Villa)
5. Drury - struggling as of late
6. SIUE - may be close to Drury thanks to strong 1-2
7. Saint Joe - best GLVC finish in a long time
