wow, he fell down and came back up in a 800m and got second? Damn, he should run 800m more often.

Anyone know what AW has planned as far as the next two races?
Paris and Rome. There's talk of Rome changing to a mile, but I would be shocked if they would do that on Webb's request alone.

Looks like he drilled Heshko--someone to definitely be concerned about in a championship 1500--pretty good, too.

What are you nuts?
He ran 1:47.74...IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!!!
No particular talent my ass. The guy ran 47+ 400 in high school, he's got some serious wheels.
Nice work, T. I like your prediction for Paris, too. I'm going with 3:31.5, but he could be even faster in his first race with escorts right to the tape.
I feel like either Webb's training schedule has been designed horribly and he will be running on fumes come Osaka... or we are witnessing his coming-of-age as someone who will be on the short list of world's best mid-d runners for years to come.
I certainly hope it's the latter, and I'm very excited to see how the rest of his European season develops!
we will see in time.
another American whose progress will be intereseting is tegenkamp- 3.34.2 1500m in greece tonight- good wheels for a 5k runner- bodes well for going sub 13 in the right race in my opinion.
What did Kennedy run in the 1500 before he ran 12:58?

3:36
His all-time best was 3:38. He ran an 8:11 2-mile.
What was the name of the meet and exactly where was it held..I would like to find complete meet results?

1996
Kennedy ran 3:40.97 (seasonal best) the week before he ran 12:58.75 at DN Galen. He ran a 4:59.9 2000m four days before running 12:58.21 at Zurich, the current AR.
1:41.73 Sebastian Coe (ENG)
1:42.88 Steve Cram (ENG)
1:42.97 Peter Elliott (ENG)
1:44.09 Steve Ovett (ENG)
Makes 1.45.8 look very average.
Sub 3.30 is wishful thinking

Those are the lifetime bests of those runners, all of whom are long since retired. What's your point?

I did not connect with that 2000m time. Teg came through in 4:59-low at 2000m and 5:29-high in his fast 3000m in Europe when he then stepped off the track. My guess is that Teg is really faster shorter (his 3:34.2x today, for instance), but maybe not optimized for the 5000m to the extent that Kennedy appears to have been.
Vipam!
The meet was held at Malmö Stadion in Malmö, Sweden.
