Umm, Cheetahs and Giraffes ?
Probably wolf and giraffe, Cheetahs are fast, but they don't last long.
Camels?
Camels sound good. Antelope? Depending on what you call running, any sort of migratory animal.
she knows camels
Good call with the camels, tRg. Not antelopes: Bernd Heinrich's book Racing the Antelope (or its revised title Why We Run) specifically mentions that upon a time dudes would hunt antelopes by simply chasing them until the latter had to stop, exhausted - they're faster but our endurance is better. Pretty good read actually.
Wolves sounds possible, or dogs. Think Iditarod.
This is such a lame, condescending, holier-than-thou, uptight, humorless, manipulative ad campaign.Huh, so you think you're special? I hate it.

In the intro to one of his papers, Noakes says the Alaskan husky is the only other land mammal with better endurance than humans, so I was a little surprised to see two in the ad. Maybe the ostrich? I can't think of any other non-mammal that runs with any sort of distance capacity.
You are special too. THERE IS NO POINT in doing it if you don't enjoy it. RUN EASY. Stay fit how you see fit.
There is some animal in the western plains of the U.S., I believe it is called the pronghorn, that can run around 60mph at max speed and just under that for crazy distances.
... I'm an idiot, I thought it said "faster" not "further" animal.
I still stand by my pick of Giraffe. Seriously if I was God I would've made those creatures to run up to 120 mph and be able to hold that speed for about five miles.
The better to hunt leaves on high branches of fast-moving trees?
"Our ancestors never jogged down a meal."
Decent article about the running capacity of human's compared to other species.
random thing about giraffes and camels: they regularly do an otherwise (for most other quadrupeds) weird gait where they pick up both legs on one side or another and sway side to side when they are walking. For example, picking up L Front and L back then both R limbs, then LRLR, etc. Most other animals go with the alternating deal. (L back R front, L front, R back, or something close to it). Camels/Giraffes do this because of their unusually long legs would get in the way of each other if they tried walking in the "normal" gait at any appreciable speed.
What this has to do with their running speed I have no idea. And I know they have camel races in the middle east, and I think they run in a more normal way.
Whatever, yay random trivia.
I live in America. And in America we can hate anyone for any damn reason we choose. F***ing Constitutional freedoms right there. So if I want to feel better than someone because I run harder then they do, then that is exactly what I'm going to F***ing do.
Good posts, migo.
Who cares about advertising?
I will keep buying the shoes that I feel are the best for Me.
The shoe companies can push whatever crap they like in advertising but I will,as always, make my own decisions about their merchandise.
I believe that makes me a true runner.
