what gets me is the implication that is was a tough journey. i mean just go look at the website. the FIRST thing you see is "3200 miles of running". now that is lie one. "no support vehicle". well they might as well of had one. i mean we all go out for our runs alone. they had it no different. they slept outside maybe enough times to fit one set of fingers. geez, i've done that this summer. how tough is that? and a big base. you gotta be kidding me. run/walks everyday does NOT give you a big base. i guarantee they were in better shape in college. we'll just have to see i guess.
they ate so well on this trip that they gained weight actually. how typical is that of this trip? amazing. and they grew beards out. why? to make you feel like you roughed it? you had access to shaving everyday almost, hardly the "journey".
i housed these guys, granted it was at the beginning of the trip which is why i did. i mean i was excited. and i must say that i am very disappointed with how the trip went. from the DQ trips to the flight to see the girlfriend to the number of days off to the walking to the living like kings everyday. it was a lot of hype but not a lot of actual doing. sure, these guys did the trip their way, but it's not worthy of a pat on the back.
