I've never cared for the bad connotations associated w/the term 'one hit wonder', whether applied to music, athletes, whatever. We rarely see all that went into the performance that captured all the attention, ignore the subject and spend too much time yakking about 'failure' to produce again. We don't get to see the individual or group down the line to see what they've made of themselves. You know, get the larger picture.
I don't know what future great things Trent might do as a runner but we shouldn't confine him to race results. He's interested in the sport beyond his own running; is a bright, capable guy who'll likely make a difference in the path of his choosing. I know he's doing some above-average running currently. He has every reason to be one of the most frustrated runners in America...and I'm sure he ain't happy w/the setbacks but I think he'll be okay.
