Every time I watch Solinsky run, I think the steeple would be an ideal event for him. Has he ever tried? Just wondering?

Depending on his hurdling technique I could see him running around 8:20-25 if he ran one purely based on his 1500 speed to 5km strength range.
too big.
too good in the 5000 to mess around with it.
I think he'd be good, but that's just because the man is incredible at track to begin with, but he probably wouldn't be as good at that as he is at the 5k. If the steeple were his race, i'm sure his coach would've noticed by now.
I would think bigger strength oriented runners would be way better at the steeple than the 5k. So saying he's too big makes no sense.
But yea... kinda depends on his hurdle form... although he could probably just break through them.

That does seem logical, but over the last few decades, most of the top steeplers have been very light. The key to the steeple is not to get thrown out of rhythm by the barriers. Light runners seem better at this, particularly at not being thrown off by a bad barrier.
All that said, I agree that Solinsky could probably run a good steeple, just because he's good at not taking no for an answer.
don't fix what ain't broken
solinsky's mile and 5k ain't broken
ever hear of doug brown?
Bigger guys have a disadvantage in the steeple because it requires a much greater force to put them in the air and the force when landing is much greater. Solinsky is a great runner, and he said last year he had been playing around with the barriers in practice, but I think his best event is the 5000 (3000 indoors of course).
Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
Post about women banditing Brooklyn half marathon going viral on X
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
