LOLLLLLLLLL from the sub-4 video. Words of Mark Korich.
Sick race by Kerrigan, NATIONALS!
Max Smith looks like he's on fire. Great run from Ben True too. Kerrigan lived up to his 3:59 billing. Great run from Bumbalough, 1.5 sec. PR. Berlin followed through on his 3:41 PR.
Will Lancashire and Bair make the trip? They were 2nd and 9th in the finals last year.
So is Lanschire going to get to go? What are the rules?
Here's my descending order of guys who ran fast this year but didn't get in...(you have to have made your final to be considered for an at large bid)....I think this is pretty accurate...I may have missed if anyone pr'd today...
Solares- 3:40.34
Torrence- 3:40.42
Rono- 3:41.43
Bair- 3:42.36
Acosta- 3:42.40
Brown-(tex) 3:42.57
Barnes- 3:42.57
Wyner- 3:42.80
Davis- 3:43.19
Lancashire- 3:43.29
Last year they took 26 athletes, but if could be anywhere from 24-28 really. Bair has a pretty good shot of getting in, Lancashire has essentially none.
Brown and Barnes have the same time, and are #26 and #27...so i would guess the NCAA will either opt for both of neither (they won't want to take one guy and leave another at home) so look for this year's 1500 field to be either smaller or bigger than last years.
I thought you had to be in the top 8 to be considered for at large. Does anyone know the rule on this?
Last year I think Russell Brown finished way back in his Region (10th or 11th), and got through to NCAAs where he finished 5th.
max smith is flying he trounced those guys by nearly a full second, he is gona be a handful for anyone to beat at NCAA's has only been beaten by Lukezic outdoors this year in a race he did all the work in. I think he is ready to 3.36 if he decides on a post-season sojourn to europe.
How does it feel USA?
When all these Kiwi's take up your scholarships and then kick your arses and win all your races.
For example,
Nick Willis, Kimberly Smith and now the mighty Max Smith.
and we only have 4 million people in NZ
stop shotting people and start training
good shit MAX !!!!
nice english dbag, why dont you get a f'n education

Yeah, it's sad times. As we all know, the US is extremely limited on scholarships, and can only afford to give out a handful. And we don't have runners like Galen Rupp, or Goucher, or Abdi, or Meb, or Hall, or Flanagan, or Mcdougal, or Solinski, or Robinson, or Symmonds, or Lukezic, or....

I am sure that is your trolling at its best, and I am sure Max appreciates your comments....not.
What exactly does MEATY mean? I don't get it?
You have to finish top 12 to be considered

Yes, 3 examples over a 6 or so year span. Why that's got to be at least .1% of the people earning all-american in that span. a veritable Kenya of the South Pacific.
What happened to Wyner?
Pirate, don't they have to take at least 26 though? Including Brown and Barnes would make the field 27 and like you said they'd probably take both and not one or the other so why not let them in? Plus these would be the one of the faster "at-large" entries to nationals in the last couple of years with their mid 3:42s so reward them I say, I don't know I'm just hoping my boy from Texas gets in with that time, and Barnes too for that matter.
If I was Tom L. I would be so pissed at my coach right now.
This is the first season he lets Lancashire run 5k / 3k's indoor, early 5k outdoor but essentially no 800m.
He probably tried to convince him this was good for his strength blah.. blah.. and by training the longer distances he would sustain an early break away like last year at NCAA's..
well, we saw this weekend where this lead to. Lancashire must have lost a great amount of his speed.
input ?
Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
Post about women banditing Brooklyn half marathon going viral on X
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
