ok today i did a 300 meter followed by a 1 kilometer time trial by myself.
300m- 39.5
1000m-2:45
What sort of shpe am i in for a 800 meter in a race atm.
i think i could of gone faster in these workouts if i had someone to run with.

You honestly run those times on your own?!?!
You must be in shape to run around 1:53-55, maybe quicker, depends if you have the strengh what was the recovery between 300 & 1k?!?!
153-154
maybe faster if the 300m and km were in racing flats or trainers. slower, if your running start 100m time is closer to 12.5 than 11.5.
I would say 1:57 or so. The 300m time is pretty good, but the 100 time isn't a time that really doesn't really point to a 1:53. 2:45, that means you ran a 2:08 or so and then finished with around a 37 second last 200 meters? Is that about right? Just guessing.
well you could try a kosmin test if you're really that keen to know in advance. It's 2X1 minute runs separated by 3 minutes recovery. Work out the distance eash time,
and use the Kosmin formula to convert it into 800 prediction. Sorry you'll have to look up the formula, try Brian Mac's site.
My splits for the 1km were
400m: 1.03
800: 2:12
last 200m: 32
I came home strong
I don't think there is anyway that those times point to a 1:53. Assuming decent weather and a decent amount of rest I would say 1:57-1:58. If it was windy/rainy or you didn't have a ton of rest in between then I might lower my estimate.
i ran vbery similar times for my efforts (300's and k's) last year and i ran 1:54!!
2:13 on the real
i agree with 2:13
2:13, where you running... wind tunnel?!?!
yeah i dont know where these 153 predictions are coming from. id say 2 flat.
i ran 5 x 1000m in 2.50 to 2.53 with 1.30 rest between reps, what do you think im no sure what to aim for
no faster than a 2:05
2:45 for a 1k is not fast enough to warrant a 1:54 or 57. I dont know where you guys are thinking this up from

I'd say you are about 2:01-3 in an open 800 right now.
no way 1:53. I'd say 2 flat
1:53??? I've run 37.3 and 2:36.5, and my PR's 1:58.7!!!
can't quite work out why there's such a monster gap between your 300m time and the splits on 1k.
i mean seeing as you can run 39.5 for 300m you should be able to run 54/55 for 400 so that gives you a predicted 8 time of 1.57/8 or so. I think the stopwatch must have malfunctuioned for that 1k test.My girl runs about 2.11/2.12 for 8 and she goes through 400m in 64secs (cos
shes not very big on long efforts) and 300 in 48 secs.
So if you can run a theoretic 9 secs faster than that then
and still run only 2.45 for 1 k then you must be A SPRINTER.
I agree with Duh. You're not in sub 2:00 shape. The people saying 1:53 have no idea what they're talking about. Your 300 is quick but your 1000 time shows that you can't hold on.
ive run 40, and 2:50 but i have still run 1:54.87!! so wot is all this 2:13 crap about?!?
