Hmm, where are all the posters who a few months ago said it was a "fact" that Hansons would be switching to a bigger shoe co. sponsor?
Hansons are loyal to a fault.
Who, exactly are the brothers Hanson loyal to except each other?
They bad mouth every race director they work with, every runner that leaves the program, most runners in the program and their sponsors, when they aren't around.
Aside form all of that, with all of Russell's money behind Brooks, how are they selling themselves short by reupping with Brooks for more money? Pretty good money for a marathon club with one semi-marketable runner(who is on his way out), if you ask me.
Maybe you were being sarcastic...
Terry Kozma says congratulations!
I think their loyality is a good thing. Brooks seems to take care of them and Brooks as a shoe company is getting bigger in the running industry.
They are getting a 400% increase. I think they got Brooks to increase the money... DUMBASS
Wow, that is a first wrote:

The team has arrived. You have someone taking potshots like they do to all the success stories in the sport. I deal with the brothers on a daily basis and they speak highly of nearly all of their athletes. Anytime I enquire about an athlete that has left the program their comments are always the same "good kid, just not a good fit". They brag about their sponsors to no end. I have only heard them comment on a few race directors but never in a negative light. They worship Pinkowski.

You've outed yourself as a complete moron.
I am an athlete in the program and I wasn't being sarcastic at all. K & K were offered a ton of money from other shoe companies but they love Brooks. Brooks has been good to all of us and that is what I meant. Bad mouthing sponsors? That is total BS. We are preached to every monday about supporting our sponsors. You are obviously someone who was not good enough to be in the program or just a troll trying to stir up controversy.
Everyone liked the Hanson story when they were the struggling little guy. Now with a 400% increase from Brooks. The addition of Saturn $$. Guaranteed $100k salaries for their top athletes. Are they going to lose that litttle guy image? Will they still be everybody's favorite underdog.

yes, because they will continue to turn 30 minute 10k guys from DIIIs into 2:15 marathoners
Those other potential sponsors wanted to tell them when and where to race their athletes, no doubt. It's not as simple as they turned down larger monetary offers, they also turned down compromising strings attached to that dough.
FWIW, I recently bought some Brooks trainers for the first time in years, due mostly to Brooks's affiliation with a group that succeeds by doing things the right way. If only more running store chain owners who claim to have a passion for the sport would put their money where their mouth is like the Hanson Bros. have and do even half of what these guys have done to provide opportunity and help rejuvenate the sport on the pro level.
the athletes seem to turn over real quickly in the program lately. Guys like Clint and Brian stuck it out and improved massively, how come the new athletes aren't making the same choice? Rumour has it a large number (3 to 4) of guys are leaving at the end of the spring. They will probably be replaced easily enough, but these guys WERE replacements for guys that abruptly quit/got kicked off before them. What gives? Are there no more Clint/Sell/Brinker/Briney/sort of Chad Johnsons left to find? no one has any loyalty anymore? Or has the growth of the program underminded its original appeal?
What is "real quickly"? Sometimes people can't know whether a situation will be perfect for them or not until they're in it. Most of the guys have been there at least a couple of years, ditto the women.
The Hansons have a different way (not better or worse, just different) of doing things. They will always have turnover. They bring athletes in and some understand and others don't. It is no big deal. The thing that is obvious is that the sponsors like the way things are going. Most groups dissolve to to lack of funding. This group continues to grow. I think it frustrates many people that this group continues to find ways to grow without ever changing their ways. A great situation for some and not so great for others. There are however several athletes that have been there for over 4 years.
Not sure who you're talking about
Clint-since the begining of time
Brian- 5 or 6 years
Kyle 4 years???
Humphrey- 3 years
Trent- 4 or 5 years
Eberly- 3 years
Marty- forever
Almost everyone else just resigned and are about 2 years
Rizzo, Crippler, Nick all just got here.
You will have some quick turnover, but the core of the group has been here awhile
I recently switched from wearing Asics to wearing Brooks in no small part because of my admiration of Brooks' commitment to US distance running through their sponsorship of Hansons. Something tells me that I'm not the only one who's doing this.
