Ditto. I have had several VO2 Max tests, setting records at a couple of sport labs, and averaging 77.50 for all my tests, with a high of 81.3.
However, I am not world class. I am barely a National Class caliber runner with modest PR's. Everytime I finish one of these tests, the DR.'s are amazed and then in wonderment wonder why I am so relatively slow.
All they can say is that I have a huge engine, but for some reason (probably training related) I operate at around 75% of my anaerobic threshold. Also, it may be my biomechanics and fiber-types that aren't really designed for long distance, but not middle distance either.
Quite a quandry, but way too many questions and variables and "answers." I do my best and try to fulfill my potential by training as hard as I can and as properly as I know how.
