Not to mention the Ertl toy museum just down the street. And the Daimond Jo Riverboat Casino in New York.
I do really like the minor league stadium in Davenport.

Diamond Jo in Dubuque. I don't know how that happened. Must not have been paying attention.
I am not really trying to rip your state. I am actually asking for something that is unique and interesting about Iowa. All you give me is a 5th place finish in Forbes magazine when Albuquerque is 6th, and 1st last year. Isn't Iowa St. in Des Moines or is that Drake?
Regardless, what is there to like about Iowa? Here is your chance.
It's not Albuquerque.
Drake is in Des Moines. Iowa State is in Ames.
to note on a post made in march on this thread, tom davis wasn't kicked out by the fans, his contract wasn't renewed by the ad at the time, current stanford ad, bob bowlsby. during the national anthem at the last home basketball game of davis's final year the fans started chanting "bowlsby sucks" - yeah, they sure did hate dr. tom.
as far as alford goes, i've hated him since the initial pierre pierce episode, not to mention the fact that he never grew a set and took responsible for a loss, he always seemed to be blaming his players for not stepping up. this year, while mike henderson was stepping into a leadership role, alford called him out time after time, alienating him. what a great coach.
as for the naming of iowa city UNMGrad, it's quite the clever name that new mexico's got there - where'd you manage to find that one?
"whoa, slow down their maestro, there's a NEW mexico?"

good point. makes one wonder what they found so appealing about old mexico that they decided to start a new one.
UNM Grad-
push, push, push...
Since you insist, lets take a look at the situation...
-Alford left Iowa to avoid getting fired and took a large paycut
-UNM has an athletic budget of $22 million. Iowa's is nearly $60 million.
-Big Ten vs a barely mid-major
As for a place to live, I don't feel the need to promote Iowa, but I will give you some more reasons why this job is an enormous step down for a guy with a young family...
-New Mexico has the highest rate of teen drug use while Iowa has among the lowest

New Mexico is one of the poorest states
47th in per capita income

The education system sucks (among three worst states)

And don't even get me started on the subject of health care...I saw your state-of-the-art hospitals for myself. I'm sure if anyone in his family has health problems he'll have them on the first plane to Iowa City.
Yeah, you have mountains. Now you also have Steve Alford. Congrats.
