I've been recently coming back from surgery/injury, and was up to 35 minutes of running 2 days in a row last Monday/Tuesday. After the run on Tuesday I felt a bad pain outside of my left knee that got progressively worse as the night went on. I originally thought it was an it-band issue, because it felt like the same exact pain I had outside of my right knee last winter that kept me out of the 2006 indoor season.
I got my it-band worked on last Wednesday ( a day after the initial pain), and it loosened up for a couple hours, but did not progress. I haven't run since last Tuesday and it is still REALLY bothering me. Whenever I keep my leg straightened out for a long period of time (like when i'm sleeping), and then bend it...it's a horrible pain, and I haven't walked without pain since before this whole thing started to hurt.
My question is, is it really my it-band that is this tight? Or could it be something else? Any major ligaments there that I could have injured?
Any feedback will be great...
