Not to be picky, but in baseball circles, it is sort of known that AA is better in most cases than AAA. AA is where all your young studs are kept, whereas AAA is primarily for your elder statesmen who can help guide those who shift back and forth from the show and AAA. Not all, but in terms of talent, AA is where it is at.
Let's look at it statistically. The 2006 AAA Champions were the Tucson Sidewinders. They went 91 - 53 plus Division, League, and "Brickyard Showdown" wins. The Sidewinders roster included only two players over 30 (31 and 32 years of age). Except for a couple cases, players have not come to AAA to finish out their careers (which makes sense, wouldn't you rather leave from the majors than just fade away?).
Now, obviously, there is no denying that younger studs coming up are generally better than lame old players -- but the idea that AA is better than AAA is unfounded. If AA teams were better, they'd be playing in AAA. Period.
