I think I might have one. What does it feel like? What are the symptoms? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Generally they tear on the medial (inside) edge. You'll feel it 'pop'. It may or may not be painful at first, but as it progresses your may feel clicking in the knee and swelling. What happens is the meniscus acts like a gasket. It tears a little and eventually an edge may flip back on itself, you'll feel the clicks until eventually a big tear, which is quite painful.
Lay on your back with your legs straight. Now lift the heel of the injured leg up about six inches. Now rotate the leg left and right. This will become very painful. If you've torn it badly it will be difficult to sleep.
Now the good news. Meniscus surgery is a piece of cake.
I have the same problem and did that excersize last night and my knee has been in pain since.
surprisingly, not alot of pain....maybe a clicking feeling in there, like everything is not locked into place.
I think I might have a slight meniscus tear.
TWO QUESTIONS:
1.) Could you still have a tear without feeling any pain while doing the exercise described in the preceeding post? I felt zero pain while doing the exercise and after).
2. Does a sore hamstring often accompany a sore knee if you have a meniscus tear?
Thanks.

Absolutely. That exercise is jest a test that will expose a meniscus tear once it gets bad. You could easily have a tear and go about your business without pain or swelling.

I wouldn't know why. The meniscus is cartilage, it's padding between the bones in the knee. I don't get the logical leap to to sore hamstrings.
