Lindsay Donaldson will likely dominate in the 3k and/or mile.
The Princeton men and women look very strong this year, but Cornell's always the team to beat on both sides.
It would be nice to see a real fight for the team title this year.

Galebach wins! (I have no idea what he's running.)
Cornell women will romp (again), and the men's meet will be close between Cornell and Princeton with Penn lurking in 3rd. Cornell men win off of a ton of points in the jumps.
More importantly, is the Ivy League getting rid of the Heptagonals as a championship title ? Who made that stupid decision ?
From the Ivy website:
"In the midst of a celebration of its 50th Anniversary, the Ivy League will host its 2007 Indoor Track & Field Championships in a place it has not been in more than 50 years . . . . the championship track and field events in the Ivy League (previously known as the Heptagonal Games Association and including both Army and Navy) predate the official formation of the League itself.
Where is it this year?
They are doing away w/ "Heps" because they kicked Navy out? Did Navy leave b/c the girls team was not even close to competive? The guys were. Nice DMR this weekend BTW. Maybe it has something to do with ultra-liberal AD's. Columbia's got a great one - if you like Rosie O'Donnell.
Why is Cornell good track but not in XC?
Cornell has a much bigger and deeper track team than any of the other Ivies. Not so with its XC teams.
It would be a mistake to drop the Heps moniker after all these years.
Cornell/Princeton/Columbia/Penn dogfight in the Mid-D races!
I predict galebach takes down the 1000, mile, 3k and 5k! Kid is an unreal buzzsaw and I say he dominates. Unless Cardenes is in the race. Things might get complicated if he is.
BZZZZZZZZZZ
Does he have eligiblity? The kid is like 25, unless you go to Cornell, most Ivy guys go 4 and out so every one else is 21 or 22. Looking back it was his regionals performance that was the outlier. MoC, Heps, Nats were less than stellar.

Gallybash Birthdate: 10/21/83
Thus he is currently 23.

Regardless of whether he goes to Cornell, an Ivy athlete only has four years in which to use his four years of eligibility (with the usual NCAA exceptions for military service, missions, etc.).
Someone who takes five years to get his/her degree has no Ivy eligibility in that fifth year. Ivy students also have no grad eligibility; hence the relatively high number of Ivy grads who, if they have NCAA seasons of eligibility remaining, end up going to non-Ivy grad schools to get that year of competition in.
I seen he run a purty good 3K a few weeks ago. I don't think the 1K and mile are his bag, tho.

Not true, take a look at the Penn football rosters for instance, plenty of 5 year players. Penn's not the only one that has an u/g schedule that permits a 5 year career without academic eligibility issues, to compete in the 5th you have to apply for a hardship exception. At some other schools it's not possible and athletes take a year off to preserve their eligibility.
Thanks for the correction. My info was (obviously) out of date/incomplete.
So which Cornell guys have gone this route?
Cornell freshman Cloninger, nice sprinter.
He's from my town, his hs classmates call him the "white rocket" or something like that.
Pretty sure he should be a top Ivy competitor given his hs marks, most of his caliber go other than ivy.
Paul Morrison ran for Texas after graduating from Princeton.
Amber McGown ran one year for Oregon after Cornell.
Another Cornell grad (female) is currently running for Duke.
I believe one of Columbia's mid-D runners (female) is currently running for another D-1 school.

A Harvard grad ran for president.
I was at a meet the coaches night at a local high school, one of the coaches, who was really there only to sell his travel soccer league, said that Ivy League could not red shirt (he is NOT an Ivy League coach). An Ivy League athlete that I coached in high school told me that she was red-shirted in indoor track last season. I believe her.

The following summarises the Ivy League rule:
"Ivy eligibility standards can be more stringent than NCAA requirements. Only undergraduates are eligible for intercollegiate athletics; no student who has completed the requirements for a bachelor’s degree may compete, unless within four years of matriculation. Furthermore, student-athletes are eligible for a sport only during the first four seasons on campus: no athletically determined “red shirt year” is allotted. A waiver is considered if a student’s reason for remaining in school during a fifth season is academically compelling and special circumstances, such as a medical hardship, exist. Finally, amateur standards always apply: a student who is a professional in one sport forfeits Ivy eligibility in all varsity sports."
ivy league alums with remaining seasons of eligibility may complete them at other, non-ivy institutions while doing graduate work (reference paul morrison at texas or emily mccabe at duke).
