That has got to be one of the most horrible things I have ever read.

I thought I read somewhere that swimming 1 mile is the same as running 3 in term of aerobic capacity, etc etc. granted the bodily impact is about one tenth, but is swimming really 3 times more work than running?
I would have guessed that swimming was more than 3 times as much work as running from my own experience, but that's probably just because I'm better at running than swimming. I haven't been in a pool for a workout in a few years, but I seem to remember being more tired after a half mile swim than an eight mile run. Again though, that's probably just because I do eight mile runs much more regularly than half mile swims.
Beware the dreaded Candiru.
Yeah, the article I saw said he would wear a wetsuit to protect against those things. They swim up your uretha, erect a spine, and start feeding on flesh and blood.
That is really gross.

Having been a tri-fag at one point, I can tell you that wearing a wetsuit makes swimming a lot easier...gives ya a ton of bouyancy (Sp). Anyway, you could pretty much float down the river wearing a wetsuit..no problems. Avoiding the freshwater attack-dolphins will be his biggest worry.
Actually not a joke & he will wear a wet suit & special cream in specific areas to protect from the 'needle fish'
Check out the link below on it:
I would think a lot of things could kill him?
Isn't there a tiny fish, that'll swim up your urethra and plant itself there by opening up it's set of spikes? I think it can only swim up when you're urinating/urethra is opening up for some reason.
