http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6329560?FSO1&ATT=HMAThis is the guy who just a few weeks ago lamblasted reporters who asked about the possibility of him juming ship. Obviously, he can do what he wants, but the fact that he was openly hostile to reporters, who as it turned out were correct, is comical. Also, he'll now be the man at Alabama telling his players about commitment and dedication to the team. Think any of them will raise their hand and ask "But coach, didn't you just....?"
What he did with the media was genius. Alabama sees he is struggling with the pro game, knows he could be a god again on a college campus, and sends him an offer. Saban responds with loud "Hell NO!" The boosters all start calling Alabama telling them "sweeten the deal, make an offer he can't refuse." Low and behold Bama puts an offer on the table with security, a healthy raise, and the keys to the castle.
Saban is one of the smartest guys in football. He saw the writing on the wall with the dolphins. They are getting old on defense, have no quarterback, and the line needs help. He saw that the team has gotten worse in his two years there so he jumped off the sinking ship. He also knows the captain that goes down with his ship drowns. He just jumped to a smaller ship and got a raise in the process. Honorable, not really, but after rebuilds Alabama and gets them to a few bowls, he will get a contract extention and everyone will forget about the miami tenure.
