"You know it goes to show that you can't believe everything a recruiter tells you. For example..... Vin Lanana told me when he was recruiting me that he would be around for many more years to watch over my development. Yeah watch over it from another state/school. I really pitty the guys/girls that chose that school and now the coach that got them there left. I guess I feel that is a little low. What do some of you all think about this. Let me know your thoughts.
So watch out all of you underclassmen or seniors to be, just remember to not fully believe everything that recruiter tells you, and don't choose a school strictly on the coach or the success of the team. Choose it on how you feel about how you fit and just a gut feeling".......
I like the fact that Chris has the cajones to speak out on this. We read and hear about this exact scenario all the time in college football and basketball, but it happens in our sport, too.
It appears that Vin didn't just decide this spring to change careers. Did he, in fact, interview for the Williams AD job two years ago? If so, then didn't he have an obligation to disclose his career intentions to the high schoolers that he recruited.
Did Vin have conversations with his boss and close advisor, AD Ted Leland, and clue Leland in on his intentions? If so, did Leland know that Vin was deliberately misleading Solinsky (+others?).
Will Stanford bring in anyone from outside of Vin's circle or allow him to pull a Razsco and coach some of the Stanford runners from afar, with Reilly still playing his lackey?
Any thoughts or comments?
ot too classy, in my opinion.
