We gonna run this town! Boro...where amazing happens!
why aint fritz running the mile for esu?
I was just told that IUP is not coming to the championships. School is closed down and no one can leave campus. ESU is not the favorite.

I meant to say that East Stroudsburg is NOW the favorite as they should score a lot more points in the sprints and jumps.
Slippery Rock ain't cominig eithr because of snow. This championship will suck if not all teams are there.
I heard the meet was cancelled. Any confirmation?
I think it's going to be a duel between cheney and boro for the title.
After much struggle, IUP made it and will be there tomorrow. Let's do this thing!
i've have just confirmed from reliable sources (that may or may not include doug watts himself) that edinboro is snowed and and will not be able to make the meet.
So it looks like Edinboro's new track may be the go to track for everyone to run National qualifiers next indoor season. The track was blazing fast. Tons of great times across the board from the 60m to the 5000m.
Neely Spence wins everything she runs again, athlete of the meet. Can you really bet against her in that category? Brenae Edwards dropped some time from her PR to Auto for Nat's in the 5000. The girl had been battling injuries through most of college and is really starting to hit her stride.
None of the distance races were sit and kick affairs as everyone went for it. The 5000 for the men's was won in 14:38 by Hilary Mugun of IUP. Very fast race with 15:10 being 8th place. It seems Ed Buck made the Mile and 800 races with an unofficial lead through the first 800 in the mile in 2:01. Top 8 times were faster than the winning time last year. Last year's indoor 400 champion nearly upsets the field in the 800 until Phil Rector decided to kick it in make up the 10 meter gap he opened up with about 200 to go. Great race. The 3000 was also a battle with it being a huge points race between ESU and Lock Haven at this point. Won in 8:25 by Sean Stetler of Ship. 8th place was about 8:39.
Great Championships, guys and girls. Pretty exciting stuff.
I was impressed with the meet this weekend. Lots of good performances in many events. Men's 3k Top 10 8:40ish or better.. Fast . Men's mile top three or four would have won last year. Neely Spence... what else can I say.. ESU sprinter Redick.. fast. Nice job Haven for squeeking by to win.. ESU better luck next time.. Ship.. time to recruit some sprinters. Maybe in outdoor you'll see your day.. who knows. All in all a fun weekend reqardless of the Great weather. Ship women fine job. Rock women looking fine as well.
when did watts turn so senile? Giving out yellow cards to people cheering during a meet!? What a big move!!! When's the last time at ESU people weren't in the lanes cheering for people. What are joke....while the facility was great the meet was run like crap. As an alumni of the conference I was embarassed by how poorly some aspects of the meet were run.

As an alumni I'm embarrassed about what you just wrote. Did you take English as a second language, or are you actually that stupid? No, I will not accept 'this was posted from a cell phone' as an excuse. Learn to write. Many of us did in grade school.
The meet was very very poorly run. It took Watts 15 minutes to figure out whether or not there was going to be 1 or 2 heats of the 3k. It seemed like every distance event and every relay it took way too much time for the officials to get there stuff together and get the races off. For the 5k they didn't even have a line down.
The track is fast and the facility is nice...but Watts SUCKED at putting a meet on, he didn't have anything together. Watts is just an senile old man on a power trip handing out yellow cards to people cheering while he should be actually be doing something worthwhile like running the meet and putting down the starting line.
The distance events were run pretty poorly.. I was the starting leg for IUP on the 4x8 and it took them 15 minutes once we got to the line for them to figure out an alley start.. it looks like the odd sized track wasn't giving issues only to our coaches who wanted to give us splits, but also to the meet officials
Wow man, you sound so entitled. It took an extra what... 10 minutes on the line? They didn't have 2 alleys set up and someone made a big deal of it right before the start. I'm pretty sure the main goal of running at conference is to compete for your team. Splits are irrelevant. For a first meet at a brand new indoor track, I'd say it was run pretty well. There were some things that could have gone better with the starts, but they didn't affect the actual outcome.
My team, the coaching staff at Mansfield and I would like to thank the Coach Watts and the Edinboro staff for their great efforts this weekend putting on one of the most competitive PSAC meets in that last couple of years. The staff at Edinboro volunteered to put the meet on to let the ESU staff have a break from hosting the event every year. They did not have to do that.
The dome was beautiful and the track was fast. We especially want to thank Coach Watts and his staff for taking the extra time and effort to arrange for those distance races to be run in lane 4. The track was not marked for that originally and it took a lot of work to figure out where those start lines were supposed to be and put them down.
I would also like to thank the coaches from Clarion, Ship, LHU, and Millersville who served on the games committee who were much more patient then I was with individuals who could not follow simple rules and protocols.
I was genuinely impressed with several teams and their demeanor in particularly LHU athletes set a great example of sportsmanship as did the kids form several other schools. But for us and for Brenae Edwards we would like to thank Neely for helping Brenae to an auto qualifier. For those that don’t know, when Neely caught Brenae who was on auto pace for the first 9 laps by herself, Neely told Brenae to come along and kept encouraging her over the last 5 minutes of the race. Brenae is very thankful and it was great sportsmanship.
There are no legitimate complaints about the way the meet was run. At least not from mature adults.
The track and the facility overall were great, very nice to race on. And there were some fast times and some exciting races. However, I must admit, I thought the yellow cards were a strange touch to an overall great meet.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
