Good call on Ship's DMR, it should be fun to watch. Adding Spence, a 4:45 miler already should put them into the equation.
As for good performances so far, I saw that Phil Rector and Jason Jamieson from SRU went 1:54 and 1:55, respectably. That's pretty impressive for so early on.
didnt the girl that beat at XC nats runs a 4:30 mile??? they will do well but not win the national title.

She ran 4:37, and its a relay so it takes more then one leg
Neely Spence 4:44 (improved since hs)
Erika Hess 55 and qualified for nat's
Mary Dell 2:10 (improved a lot since last year, went AA in xc)
Abby Huber 3:35 is what she ran last year when they ran 11:59
Add that up and you get:
11:24 with everyone running what they ran last year. scary isn't it?
Seattle Pacific returns
Jessica Pixler 4:35 (converted mile time)
Lisa Anderberg 2:12
Jane Larson 4:26 1500 4:45 mile or prob 3:30 1200
Jessica Hinton 59
Add that up and you get:
11:16
It looks like this could turn out to be one of the best years in division 2 history in the DMR if both teams load the relay and go after each other, is very possible to see both teams go sub 11:20 possibly even close to 11:10 if some people run the races of their lives. 11:10 was the 10th best time in the country last year division 1 and 11:15 was 16th. That would be amazing to see two division 2 teams be able to qualify for a division 1 national meet.
wouldnt dell theoreticalyl be able to run a faster 12 considering she is the better xc and 800 runner. seems like she could knock alot more time off the 12 the the 8 leg

Strauman went 1:51.09 last year on Dec. 2nd. Just goes to show you how dominate he really was.
and ended up hurt. shows that maybe sooner isn't better.
note that he got hurt a month later. you must know nothing?
Did he run faster during the indoor season or was Dec. 2nd his indoor PR? Note he did not run at PSAC's or NCAA's. Peaking the beginning of Dec. is not good.
Maybe the Rock guys just had a good day and will get faster later or maybe they will do a Strauman. The 800 should be a good race anyway with a lot of quality guys.
His injury may have been a blessing, it allowed him to refocus and win a national championship.

First, he has the indoor all time record at 1:50.62 so obviously no, he didn't PR that day. Second, he battled through an IT band injury and ran a 2:25 1000m. So PR in Dec? no.
and "do a Strauman"-- by that I think you mean work hard and win a national championship? or have only one career loss to a conference 800 opponent?
More power to the Rock guys. i always see strauman talking to them and he seems like he gets along great with the 800 conference men.
yea, i think he woulda gone sub 1:50 in indoor if he stayed healthy. he had nick lara from adam state shakin in his pants.
on CBS at 2 today ( saturday) there should be highlights from xc nats and i believe it features a few interviews with some of the ladies from the rock.
not bad coverage. didnt show alot of the race but you saw regan and clark in there for the guys.
plus one of slippery rocks fans jumping up and down
then a good story about the slippery rock girl with coverage of there race.
Over on my blog, Northwest Ultrarunning, I have a post about the toughest runners I know.
I'm curious who y'all think are the toughest runners that you know?
Hoovis
Hoovis has a blog? Nice! Maybe he'll manage to keep his ill informed long winded moronic opinions on that website and off this thread.
On a similar note, Who else is enjoying Dirt's absence?
Long-winded...absolutely.Moronic...for sure. Ill informed...I doubt it. In terms of keeping my opinions off of this thread...no such luck. Sorry...HoovisP.S., It's Burt Hoovis' birthday tomorrow. Check out his profile on Facebook:http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1348188651

This is for those of you who don't care to know from the man who's words might be hated more. Skwierz has been enjoying time away from competitive running with a possible long term Mrs. Dirt that he came across while insulting himself on a local running forum. He seemed rather intent on keepings posts off of this thread, as if I could actually bring someone good news. From what he told me you might be able to find his work elsewhere on this message board.Over the summer he went through the 1600 of a 3k at 4:30 before falling off pace in a solo effort. Then came back and took out a former a sub 9 steepler in a mile road race. The man caught the injury bug before summers end. The competive drinker in him will lead to a comeback for the Freeland Pub Run on Memorial Day as he looks to hold off a more seasoned Christopher Cowan who should have learned the course.Or at least that is what was up during XC nationals. Look for a possible siting at day 2 of indoors since there will be no mail to deliver. "To those who hate, you I love."

You obviously are clueless about Nick Lara. He is arguably the most badass 800m runner D2 has ever seen. Kid has never lost to Strauman to the best of my knowledge. He made nationals last year outdoors coming off of basically no training and still almost made the final.
