I've known Cabada since our high school days, and for those of you who question his ability you obviously don't know him. The kid is talented, an 8:58 3200 as a junior in high school, that is amazing, he just needed some stability which he has had for awhile now and he's tearing it up. Good job Fernando!! on representing the valley, along with Macias!!!what's next? a sub 28? Good luck
I don't recall accusing anyone at Austin... In fact, I didn't accuse Cabada of anything either. I only brought up the fact that sudden bursts of performance give rise to suspicion in this sport. I think we would agree that is a fact of life in Track & Field.
5k:
2001 = 14:40
2002 = 14:29
2003 = 14:26
2004 = 14:29
10k:
2004 = 29:37
2005 = 29:01
There are some big breakthroughs this year which is nice to see. There is a progression yes...and I really hope he continues to perform well. Our sport needs as many high quality performers as necessary.
As for my reason to exist if I were you I would hardly put my emphasis on running. I have many more reasons to live than my next PR, do you?

It has nothing to do with ability. Cabada is an incredibly talented athlete. That is why he was recruited to run for Arkansas. His inability to stay at Arkansas had nothing to do with his talent either. He is a hot head and it has been the thing that has held him back his entire career thus far. I know for a fact that he will not be offered a contract that he deserves because he is not the complete package. He will be pissed that guys like Dan Browne(who Fernando is as good as) will always be offered more appearance money and a better shoe deal. This will happen simply because Dan Browne is better schooled and knows how to deal with the press and the sponsors. I was in Grand Rapids and I was extremely proud of Mr. Cabada until he opened his mouth. This boy has some big time growing up to do. I wish him the best.
congrats to cabada!
whats the story on cabada pulling a knife on some dude? This may have been mentioned before but I missed it if it was. This guy sounds cool. I heard he pulled a knife on Dan Wilson which would be great because Dan wilson probably deserved it, knowing him.
Thats funny how you accuse people of taking stuff. Just to make one correction in Cabada`s progression; I think (actually I am pretty sure)he ran 13:49 last year, and not 14:20 (I don`t know where you got this time). I highly doubt he is taking anything.
dont hate CABADA...just becasue you will never ever set a u.s record at anything or even break 15 for the 5k.
mexican pride
Cabada will do awesome and his attitude will be refreshing. I am so tired of the vanilla "scrubbed and fresh" persona that it makes me sick! Track and distance running needs someone who is a bit scrappy and has a big mouth people talk about that sh1t - look how much pub the sprinters get. Distance running needs someone with a big mouth and who can deliver the goods!

This was from his own post on the previous page. And last I checked 2004 was not last year...
He is a marathoner.
go f*** shit up cabada you f***ing beast!!!

Remember Teddy Mitchell????????
I hope, for his own sake, Cabada tones it down in public. I don't want to see anyone go down Mitchell's path again, that's for sure. You don't want a guy like Cabada to ever tone it down in his own mind, but he can play the game and get some contracts if he can keep off letsrun.....
Go ahead and look here if you have to. Just don't post. If you have to post, do it professionally. But stay scrappy and confident inside. It's not hard.
Cabada use to write some stupid replies back in the day, but recently haven't been writing anything. He posts under King Cobra, when he does post they are in a good manner!
your such a pussee.
Wow, you actually managed to spell two of four words correctly. How fast can some of your follow kindergarten classmates run a 400 in?
"fellow" - too eager to flame a retard
Congrats on everything Fernando. Just keep on doing what you're doing.I'm proud of you. You know you are doing something good when the jealous bitches on here start to talk shit about you.
Well if you must know I have been boned up the ass a couple of times and I like to suck dick. IS THAT WHAT YOU ALL WANTED TO HEAR!!!
You are one sick puppy
