I would say 331 and 2734 translates to something around 1258, if not faster. He might have the juice to challange mottram for title of best whittie alive.

Amazing. 300 posts on one thread in only 3 1/2 hours. That's gotta be a record.
great job to webb and ritz. cannot believe fam hung in there with them. fam must of ran a lot of the race alone. looks like he was 30 seconds back at one point. so i would say he still has a lot of potential to run a really fast 10k since he was able to run off a 30 second debt.
I think Webb might be looking to run more 5000's this summer, and that could be part of the reason for running this 10,000 right now. Maybe he'll run some 1500's/miles later on in the summer?
I think Famiglietti is looking to move up to the 5000m as well. Expect to see him running some this summer.

The best whittie alive?????
27:34, 3:31(last year), and 23 years old!!
I don't think the guy is worrying about being the best white guy alive.
He has a chance to beat all of them.
Go Webb!! GO!!
This will make everyone in the world take notice.
sub 13 5k will happen this summer for webb. he must be in awesome distance shape to run that fast
Many thanks, Boulderunner!!

Fam was never 30 seconds back, I can tell you that. I think the post you're looking at says 30 meters.
Fam was very feisty after the race, putting on a sprint to catch Webb doing a victory lap.
Any word on the second heat?
Sorry I missed the finishing updates, kept getting a black screen that said no messages found for the message board. Anyway, the last update was that Dathan held off two moves by Webb on the last lap only to get outkicked on the final straight. Sounded like an awesome race. Fam loooked really strong and "went for it" a couple times. Ive also got a hunch that Dathan can do a fair amount better than what he ran tonight.
Agreed. The sub-13 5000m floodgate is going to open up this summer for the Americans. Lagat, Webb, Goucher are or will be there. I think we can expect to see some fast 5000's from Famiglietti, Ritzenhein, and Hall also this summer.

Don't forget Dobson. Torrs, when will you take a crack at the 10 km.?
... or Broe, either.
track calculator has the following conversions of a 27:34.72 10k. mile 3:48.54 2 mile 8:12.60 5k 13:10.49 that is unbelievable that the conversions almost match his pr at those distances exactly 3:48/8:11/13:10. usually one distance is way off. just shows you the guys range between the mile and 10k. marathon next???????? maybe in or 9 years??
is it true that webb was supposed to be ritz rabbit and he pulled a paul pilkington??
Here are Webb's PRs charted on the Hungarian tables:
1:46.53 1880pts
3:32.52/3:48.92 1895pts
8:11.48 1865 pts
13:10.86 1870 pts
27:34 1865pts
If his 1500m ability stayed the same and he raise his distance PRs to that same level, he'd get:
7:25, 12:52, 26:53
Agreed! I didnt think there was any way we could have another year like last year in 5000 but now it all seems possible and more! WOW! What a night!

Webb's 800 PR is 1:46.09 run 8/2/04.
Willis has obviously scared Webb off into running the 5 and 10k events.
