Indeed...the guy who just got knocked out of the top 10 is none other than Bob Kennedy.

How in the heck does Alan Webb train?
Its obvious high mileage sucks and training like a miler is a key to success. I hear Webb lifts a lot. Now I will too!
Oops, added Ritz and Fam. Is this now up-to-date?

His 47. 400 was in the 11th grade. I know of only a few times he has run 400 meters.
you left out the Fam
Remember last year when everyone was saying that the 2 mile was the perfect meeting point for Webb's and Ritz's talent? Who would've thought it was actually 10,000. Actually, if Webb really was just running for the win, half marathon might be the better meeting point. Although I can't imagine Ritz beating Webb at any distance now.
i think fam knocked BK off the top-10

Yes, the T&FN list is three years old. Abdi, for example, ran about 27:33 last year.
hey r u guys still doing live results for the other races after the 10k?
Seriously, within 2 years Webb could have every AR from 1500 to 10,000m (if Lagat doesn't get some first). How insane would that be? He could run 3:29, 3:46, 4:48, 8:05, 12:55 and 27:10. Crazy. I really didn't think he had this in him.
sorry, nobody is answering the phone.
so, webb had more talent overall...I THINK ALL THE WEBB-BASHING OVER THE YEARS HELPED HIM GET EXTRA MOTIVATION.
That is more impressive than Regina's sub4:00 1500m indoor world record.
Where is the thread with people predicting times only? I think I was close.
Agreed, but isn't Lagat is pushing 32 now and perhaps past his prime? I doubt Webb is running any more 10Ks this year, he will focus on shorter races 800, 1500, maybe a 5k. He's going to attempt AR records in Eurpoe this summer for the 1500 and mile. He might jump in a 5k towards the end of the season.
webb will own:
1500
1mile
2mile (owns)
3000m
5000m
10000m

BK ran 27:37.45 at the 2004 Cardinal Invitational, so he's still ahead of Fam.
Impressive 10000m results - but is it totally shocking / unexpected?
I'm more surprised that Webb actually entered this race, as a young man hoping for a 3:46 Mile in the near future! I don't see how a 10000m thrash in April helps with the 3:46 aspirations.
But maybe I'm missing something? :)
