Taking a month or two off running completely was the worst thing i did.
Started rehab exercises to a level of moderate discomfort. The amount i can do for same disomfort has increased a lot. Now rehab exercises are mainly hopping.....and i'm also doing drills and light strides now. Did my first 'session' yesterday too - was 5x1km in about 3:55, barefoot on grass - Haha - about my old brisk steady run pace - but felt nice to be flowing along at a resonable speed again.
Curiously, daily walking is still causing a little discomfort, but this is slowing improving along with everything else.
So yes, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and i do think i'll be racing and setting pbs again.
I may be dealing with something similar to what you have...
Can you describe what "insertional achilles tendonosis and bursitis" is?
Why was taking a month or two off running the worst thing you could do? This is basically what I did, should I go about this differently?
Anyone with advice, I would really appreciate it, I want to get back out there soon..
