My plan for this fall is to time trial a mile after finishing all cross country races because my mile PR stinks.
I have laid the base with some good miles over the summer along with the requisite tempo runs, hill workouts and all of that.
I plan to go out on the track a bit after the last X-C race and try to break my PR. If I miss, I will wait a few days and do it again.
My query is: Are there any suggestions as to some mile specific sessions to get me ready?
I do not mean some Quenton-Cassidy-60-quarter workout, but some sessions that I can use 3-4 times and see some improvement in the systems needed for a fast mile.
Any advice is appreciated.
