25 - 800:1.49 1500:3.43
30 - shuffle
Ran about 2:30 at 14. I think I only ran two or three more times in high school, maybe running at 2:18 at best. I'm more of a long-distance guy. I ran a high 35 minute 10k about a month ago as a 22 year old while training to peak for the 5k May 6.
During the summer between my Soph. and Jr. year in high school I ran a 1:58.7 in a Jr. Olympic Southeast Regional meet to get second place (I had won the state -NC- jr. olympic meet in 2:00.17). At the time I also had 52.3 second 400m speed. I guess I would have been 15/16 that summer.
My Jr.and Sr. years in high school I switched to the mile and 2 mile so I don't have much of a progression to give you at 800m.
I would think 2:05 is a very quality time at 14 yrs old. I wouldn't worry about national age rankings, just spend your time concentrating on improving and having fun at it. At 14 there are some who are more physically developed than other and some who blossom later so don't worry about age froup standings or competitions. Just develop good work habits, learn about the sport and enjoy your new found passion for a great event.
I'm a marathoner now but the 800m was my first love.
14 - didn't run
15 - 2:11
16 - 2:00
17 - 1:54.8
18 - 1:52.7
19 - 1:56
20 - 1:55
21 - 1:57
22 - 1:54.2
23 - 1:52.3
24 - hopefully sub 1:50 after finally getting back in shape after high school.
14- 2:18
15- 1:59
16- 1:56
17- 1:54spilt
18- 1:51
19- Hurt
20- Became a Miler
14 - 2:01
20 - 1.52 2005
trained the same year in year out until I was about 19, I was also physically very mature for my age.
Hey im from Australia too mate. keep it up. dont get caught up too much with going on letsrun and other running sites when your young. too much trash talk is bad for ya. and dont worry about how you go at nationals, it doesnt really count for anythin when your young. just remember to keep on trying to improve every year, and dont even think about what anyone else is doin, and youll be great.
a couple of weeks before i turned 13 i ran 4:19/1500m and just after i turned 13 i ran 2:05/800m. when i was 14 i rean 2:02/800m and 4:12/1500m. so i was in the same kind of position as you. ^thats just some advice to take in mind.

Not completely true. Kevin Sullivan has the world record for 14 year olds and he's had a decent career.
14- 2:11
17- 1:53
20- 1:47
