LA Grand Prix, May 18th. Apparently Gabby Thomas will also be in the race, and is the favorite. It will be the best women’s race this season so far in my opinion. If Sydney can beat Gabby in a 200m, that will be scary and game over for anyone else in the 400 or 400H
You really should provide more information. Racing where and when?

SML won't try to be U.S. #1 200m dash athlete. Athletes know how to race at 7/8 or 15/16 or 31/32 effort.

That's if she shows up to the starting line, which is not guaranteed as we all know by now.
If Syd shows up great, but to avoid disappointment I'm considering this as Abby v. Gabby, still a great race.
With Abby coming back from surgery, she’s not quite ready to challenge Gabby. I am curious what Sydney will do. When she’s on, she does. Not. Lose. Maybe she’s not ready to go all out to win this 200m, but sure will be interesting.
If this happens, at this point Syd will wipe the floor with Abby.
To my eye, Abby doesn’t run confidently atm. Too tentative. Not the hunter, but the hunted—a mentality fatal in sprinting.
Steiner is easing back into it. She had a significant injury and lengthy rehabilitation. Her goal is Paris. She has shown some promise in the early season. At the Tom Jones Memorial about a month ago I would have preferred seeing her in the other 100 heat vs Tamari Davis & Melissa Jefferson. Steiner won her heat in 11.05 but Davis won in 10.94. More than likely the faster heat would have forced Abby to a faster performance but I’m not sure she needs that now. Steiner ran well in the same meet in the 4x100 teaming up with Mikiah Bristol, Jenna Prandini, and Aleia Hobbs for the win over the quartet of Davis, Anavia Battle, Kiara Parker, and Jefferson.
Some have said that Syd is out of shape but she looked decent at the Oxy Invite last weekend winning the 100h in 12.71 (-0.4) & the 200 in 22.38 (+2.9). As much as I like Femke Bol, I don’t believe she has any chance vs Syd in the 400 or the 400h. It will not surprise me if we see Syd at her absolute best in Paris.
Whoever wins the “Abby vs Syd” 200, if it actually takes place, will not tell us a lot. Syd is using it to hone her speed and Abby is using it as another step in her comeback.
Fake news. I read here that she dropped out of the meet and is finished.
“read here”
What does that mean? Did you read a comment from someone here that did not provide a source or did you actually read something from a verifiable source? If so, post a link.

An enthusiastic “yes!” to everything, except I think that Bol will have an actual shot at winning the hurdles in Paris. Anything can happen.

Thank you.
I don't believe Syd can beat Gabby in the 200M. I suspect this for Sydney is training for maintaining speed endurance that will translate to the longest sprint. If she runs a respectable to good time in the 200M, it bodes well for the 400M

What does Femke Bol have to do with that? Bol ran 22.64 indoors this season and she is even known to be slower in shorter distances

What does Bol have to do with that??? She is Syd’s primary competitor. That’s what she has to do with that. I’m attempting to say that Syd is going to be at her absolute best this year and racing a 200 is part of that preparation. You’ll see.
