How do you lose 90% of your friends over a ridiculous rumor?
2 reasons: 1) Thanks to American politicians, anything you don't agree with can now be labeled as either a conspiracy or fake news. Make people question everything...yeah good idea Donny. 2). This is Kenya. After just spending another month there, I can attest to the fact this is a place that still believes in witchcraft and that one can have a curse placed on you. No one wants to be associated and have a curse placed on themselves. Yeah, that's how they think. We ain't in Kansas anymore Toto.
What his father said is a claim, not a fact. "Sketchy men" - meaning what? There is no connection with him going off the road in his car. If there was evidence of tampering with the vehicle (and why would it be tampered with?) then there would be grounds for investigation. But there aren't. So what, that there are mafia-type cartels in Kenya; there is no connection shown between them and Kiptum - and what motive would they have to kill him? There is absolutely no evidence to suggest what you think is "possible". More clueless conspiracy-thinking.
The fact is his father made a statement. From the article:
Kiptum’s father Samson Cheruiyot has called for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his son's death.
He told Kenya's Citizen TV that a group of four people had looked for Kiptum four days before the car crash.
'There are people who came home a while back who were looking for Kiptum but they refused to identify themselves,' Cheruiyot said.
'I asked them to provide identification, but they opted to leave. 'It was a group of four people.'
You may not believe what his father said (why you would you doubt him?) but the fact is his father made a statement. So yes, my theory is supported by facts.
Where are your facts to support your theory that it was just an accident?
Father made a statement about the above, could be true, could be false, it's one eyewitness to an ancillary incident. Could also be, in American terms "a few phone calls came in from odd callers asking about my car's extended warranty".
Your theory is supported by uncorroborated eyewitness testimony of confounding factors. You have provided zero evidence of how these "sketchy men" are in any way linked with his death, nor any motivation for the "sketchy men" or "Kenyan Mafia" to target him. Explain to me, please, how these sketchy men or Kenyan Mafia would want to or could have carried out such a innocuous murder.
Once again, outstanding claims require outstanding evidence.
Fact or fiction: His father made a statement about 4 unidentified men who came looking for his son, and his father called for an investigation.
His father may have made that statement. It may also not be true. He may want to believe his son's death wasn't a stupid avoidable accident. Further, so what that these alleged visitors didn't identify themselves to him? (They wouldn't if there weren't any such visitors). There is also no connection between these alleged events and Kiptum driving off the road. You might as well say it rained the day of his death so that was the cause. This speculation is beyond merely stupid.
What is more hilarious is that it is the same as your argument that tries to link Kenyan organised crime with Kiptum's death in a road accident when there is no connection.
No. I made a plausible connection. You made a gigantic leap that would make Mike Powell proud.
Your connection is as plausible as that there is a teapot floating between Earth and Mars. My analogy about the US is effectively the same as your dumb claim about the Kenyan mafia.
You make statements. That doesn't make them facts - or relevant. It isn't my "theory" that it was an accident - he went off the road in his car and there has been nothing to show that there was any other cause than his own driving.
So you have no facts to support your claim that it was an accident. Got it.
No facts? He was killed when his car ran off the road and the police have identified no other cause than his driving. You are a simpleton.

Did you just confess to being dumb? What a breakthrough!

There it is, ladies and gentlemen! The patented Armstronglivs juvenile insult. It’s what Armstronglivs stoops to when he has been outsmarted and can’t think of a comeback. It’s basically his way of admitting he’s been defeated.

So you admit it’s a fact his father made that statement. That means you’re wrong about my theory lacking facts. And you still have no facts to support your own claim.
It’s interesting that you are so skeptical about what his father said while being adamant that the Kenyan mafia wasn’t involved. Why are you on the Kenyan mafia’s side instead of the Kiptum family’s side?

For sure he didn't understand this easy point about this fact.
It would be interesting to know which percentage of adults can't understand what "Not so nice" said here. 5%? Armstrongmissesthepoint for sure belongs to the group. As so often.
Like in any Armstrong-thread, also here we already have insults of other posters.

Not for you. My analogy was to demonstrate how dumb your claim is.
No facts? He was killed when his car ran off the road and the police have identified no other cause than his driving. You are a simpleton.

Sorry - you've just shown again that you are a simpleton. I admit nothing of the kind.
His father may have made that statement. It may also not be true. He may want to believe his son's death wasn't a stupid avoidable accident. I could make a claim that there is a teapot floating between Earth and Mars. It doesn't make it a fact. Like Kiptum's father's claim. But further to that, his claim shows no connection between these men he alleged he saw and his son's death. You really have no idea.
