As of now, his season looks like this, as confirmed by him. (I May make a season overview thread for Jakob and all the meets he may run in just since it looks like he is of huge interest in this board:
Prefontaine Classic Mile: May 25
Oslo Bislett Games 1500m:
European Championships 1500 + 5000 Double: June 7 - 12
Sandnes Norway National Championships 1500m + maybe 800m: June 27 - 29
Monaco 1500m: July 12th (I really doubt he will run this, this would put him at 7 races already before the olympics, he most likely would need a month to prepare for it as much as possible)
I wonder if he’d jump into a rust buster race somewhere out west before he heads to Pre? He had a post earlier this week with the caption that his first race is “closing in” on Instagram. Maybe this in reference to Pre, but that is still more than 3 weeks out.
If he thinks he is in world record shape, surely he will.
Imagine if Jakob skips Monaco, and Nguse and Kerr both run 3:26, or even break the WR?
Remember we always used to say Monaco is 2 or 3 seconds faster? Well they've relaid the track since then and it's even faster. Remember Faith Kipyegon took nearly five seconds off the women's mile WR last year at Monaco?
well, yeah, except that that WR was exceptionally weak and Kipyegon's mile actually converts to slightly slower than her 1500 WR she ran on another track
not arguing that monaco is the fastest track in the world just your logic in arriving at that conclusion
Only if he is not injured or sick (in other words, only if he can race a bunch of nobodies to later get his ass kicked in championship meets, a.k.a. the only races that matter).

Uh…I wouldn’t call his competitors a bunch of nobodies

Considering how much he racedast year and his peak going into worlds, I would say he is goikg to take a more different approach this year
Monaco is not the fastest track, it's the least windy stadium. Stands go all the way around and block the wind.
I used to think the track surface must be responsible, but that defies running physics. The shape might be a factor but probably not much.
Is the Doha diamond league stadium the same as the one from 2019 worlds? If so, I'd argue that's the least windy. It's essentially an indoor 400m track minus a ceiling. I heard it was air conditioned in 2019...
