Providence finished the 4x800 without a baton. They had it coming out of the final turn, but I think it is under review if Washington knocked it out or not. Providence I think just edged out Washington at the line before the DQ was issued.
If you are on flotrack you can back up and watch again. Looking at it again and stopping it I believe she was only about one stride ahead and did hit Foerster on the back swing.
Hurta wins the women’s 1500. Thought Tanaka would be faster. What’s up with Norris as a no show. Wasn’t she advertised as the “highlight” of the race? LoL
Yes, Providence's arm hit Washington's arm and Providence dropped the baton.
But it's 100% Providence's fault, because with 100 meters to go Washington moved out to lane 2 in order to pass, and Providence then also moved out to lane 2 and ran into Washington.
Total bonehead move for Providence to move out to lane 2 for no good reason.
Shades of duke...Providence drops baton late in 4x800
tough weekend for the Providence ladies, ran fast enough to beat records in DMR and 4x800 and all they get is one second place.
Has a relay team ever crossed the line in national record time before, but without the baton? That's the first time I can ever remember that happening.
The Washington runner cam across in on Providence on the turn with a bit of contact, coming off the turn like that a lot of folks will drift - but I saw it not as the Providence runner not running into Washington but the sweeping arm carriage of the Washington runner sweeping across the back of the baton - would have happened if she stayed inside too. I dont think anything will happen in terms of DQ because I do not believe there was any intention - as the other person said the one from Washington was struggling and the contact was incidental you have to hold on to that baton.

Licking her wounds from an injury. Rest of season looks dismal at best.

Do we have to be subjected to such mediocre women’s 800m running most of the time
come on
Women should regularly be running 1:56.5 by now, certainly more often than they do
Based on the lineups, it looks like Georgetown's time could qualify as an American record. Villanova has 2 Irish runners while Virginia has a NZ runner.
And all four Hoyas were under 4, being the only team in the race to accomplish that.
I eyeballed 413 or so for leadoff, 832 after 2 legs and they said 423 for Bush
*413 for Bush
Watching again I think Bush was more like 4:15 but she did look like she was cruising along well under control. So I would say 4:13/4:18/4:17/4:15. 4 full laps about 4:30, next 4 about 4:36, next 4 about 4:31, last 3 about 3:26

it’s pathetic really
How long have you been watching track? Post collegiate runners will peak in June/July. None of the women should be running 1:56.5 at the end of April. Michaela Rose of LSU has run fast but that's because the collegiate season peaks earlier. Let's see what she has left for the Olympic trials.
