Hi! I’m 30-year-old female runner with a marathon goal that I am incredibly passionate about. I am currently seeking a coach to help me achieve my goal of breaking the 3:30 barrier at the Berlin Marathon later this year.
My current marathon PR stands at 3:47, achieved at the Chicago Marathon in October. For the past two years, I’ve just been a seasonal runner (would stop running besides maybe 10 miles or so a week if I wasn’t training for my marathon) but decided to change things up this year - starting Jan 1st, I have been steadily increasing my mileage and building a strong base. I am currently running 40-45 miles per week, including several zone 2 easy/recovery runs, one tempo/speed session hitting paces I thought weren’t possible for me last training cycle, and one long run per week. My long runs have not exceeded 12 miles during this base build, but I am feeling stronger than ever before.
I am confident in my ability to achieve this goal, but I know that having a coach to guide me through the training process will be invaluable. If anyone knows of a coach with experience in helping runners reach their full potential, particularly in the marathon distance, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations!!
I also think I need to be running higher mileage this training cycle? Last year I was around 40mpw with peak around 50. Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this as well. Thank you in advance!!
