Recap: Week after marathon, only one run which was the first of a seven race series I've done every year since 2018. My 4th fastest of 29 races here (not that I go all out in most). Really surprised and happy with this one. I knew I wasnt as fatigued as I would have been if I ran a decent marathon but I didnt think to see faster than 6 minute miles. I went back and forth with a friend a few times, made a move at 2 miles to get ahead then had him a few seconds back the rest, made a big move with a quarter to go and managed to stay ahead (4th place OA), was fun to have somebody to really race.
Future: Going to move to triathlon training format and start swimming and cycling a minimum of twice per week each while also running 6-7 per week. I'm planning to race some tris, open water swims, gravel races and 5k and under running races until I prep for Philly Marathon in late summer. The goal it to have power/ strength/ speed prior to the marathon build and to spend more time with MrsRunnersam who is cycling/swimming because she can't quite run yet.
