Hi all,
This is my first post as I really need some suggestions of new running shoes I should look into. I have for the past 12 years been using two different models of Nike Free 3.0, which needs to be replaced. I really like the lightweight and minimalistic feeling and "low" drop and "thin" sole and have been running half marathons with them without any injuries or issues. However I ususally run 5-12km mostly on asfalt (~3-8 miles), occasionally longer. Sometimes 3 times a week and sometimes no running for several weeks. My fet/legs are pretty neutral with medium to narrow fot. I've been told Nike Free isn't for longer runs but I have a pair of Pegasus as well but I never use them as I prefer the Free. I'm 39 years old but my inner 20 old me likes the idea of "barefoot" shoes, but I'm not super motivated to "start from scratch" with barefoot to be able to run half marathons possibly a year later. I just want to lace up and run. That's me.
I now need your help in finding the right shoe for me as I don't get the same minimalistic feeling of the current Nike Free. As an extra but important detail is also "sustainability". -I would really like to have a shoe with low carbon footprint. I've been looking of ordering a pair of Allbirds Tree Dasher 2 as I like everything with the company and the shoes looks and materials, except I would like to have a slightly thinner sole, less drop (theirs are 22,5mm - 15,5mm = 7mm drop, 0,88-0,61=0,27inches) and a more narrow toe box.
Any suggestions of companies/shoes I should look into? Thanks a lot!
