I ran 16:50 for 5k in high school, 4:32 for the full mile, and ran 45 miles a week with 3 hours of cross training and weights, ran 2.5 years before college. Freshmen year run 26:26 on a muddy course, started running 80-100 miles weeks run a 15:28 5k mid season in outdoor, 4:10 1500 off 110 mile weeks. I run 100 mile weeks all summer with threshold workouts and good long runs. Achilles flairs up before first race. Run 26:40 for opening race on a hilly course, 40seconds better than last year. Run 25:45 three separate times and could not run faster. Lowered mileage and ran fast easy runs and ran a 8:41 3k in December on 200flat. Had a bad break and ran 15:45, 15:35 , 9:02,9:05. Redshirting and thinking about ultras and trying to make it at that. Should I try to get faster or go to ultras?
