Hmm.. the Opium War was a colonial war because the British, French and Russians wanted the Chinese to legalize opium so they could benefit from its trade. This is essentially what they did in their colonies, turning entire regions into factories to profit from. The Chinese didn't want to legalize Opium and therefore had it's hand forced by military means. If your government is subservient to the economic interests of a foreign empire, then you're a colony.
Before you claim that Islam is misogynist, read the Bible and the Torah.
Three wrongs don't make a right.
Of course all those faiths have strong misogynist views in their holy books. But do you interpret those books literally in your country?
The difference is that in some religious groups a strongly modern (and non-literal) interpretation has "won the day." So while you can find Anglicans, for example, who are very sexist, it isn't a pillar of the Anglican church in the year 2024.
Where is the large secular, liberal, pro-science Muslim community? I know Westerners and Christians of every ilk that fit that bill (and about half of all people who identify as Jewish are like that). Is that the case in every religion? I don't think so. If those groups are out there, then great! I just don't know the Muslim countries that the secular, liberal Muslim Left is in charge of.

I don't know any Muslim nations committing genocide, or engaging in violent regime changes in several nations.
500,000 dead Iraqi children due to sanctions was "worth it" per Madeline Albright.
"..the United Nations reported that the Islamic State killed about 5,000 Yazidis[5] and trafficked about 10,800 Yazidi women and girls in a "forced conversion campaign"[14][15] throughout Iraq. "
The Islamic state is not a nation. 5,000 dead is a genocide but 10 times that in Gaza is not?

Exactly. Even China was colonized, they had lands in the northeast (Manchuria) taken by Russia, Hong Kong taken by the British, Macau taken by Portugal.
Almost all of continental Southeast Asia was colonized by the French.
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar were governed by the British.
Central Asia annexed by the Russians. Most of West Asia was colonized by the British and French.
Spanish and Dutch had maritime Southeast Asia.
China was not colonized. Having lands taken in war for a short amount of time is not 'colonialism'. Japan was never colonized. Nor were Taiwan or Korea
Both Taiwan and Korea were ruled for 30+ years by Japan during the first half of the 20th century.
The west existed before Christianity. I don’t have a problem with Christianity but ultimately religion causes a lot of brainwashing.
Exactly. Western civilization was forged in the pre-Christian Greco-Roman societies. Christianization occured during the European Dark Ages and then it took 1000 years until The Enlightenment for The West to take off again.
The Roman empire became Christian before the Western empire fell. In fact the Eastern empire didn't end until 1453, Western Europe likes to hide this fact by labeling it the "Byzantine" empire. There was no Dark Ages in the eastern, more advanced, more populated half of the empire that became Christian faster. By the time the Roman empire finally fell, the Russian empire had already absorbed its cultural/religious/civilizational legacy. You've view history through a distorted Western bias to begin with, then distorted a second time to be anti-Christian.
Or the biggest idiots of all, the Right Wingers who believe tRump won in 2020.
Someone didn't study probability and statistics
what are you talking about? memory serves what happened was biden pulled his poll numbers and trump lost people. go look it up. biden would poll at 51%. biden would get 51%, trump would poll at 49% then get 47%.
to get a sense what happened, trump in a lot of states got fewer votes than the senate or governor candidate from the GOP. this suggests righty folks showed up, voted republican, but some sliver of voters voted pro-senate but then made no presidential vote. they didn't vote biden. they just didn't vote president. which is weird because usually that's the biggest votegetting contest. but that's how bad trump's response was within his party. he thus underperformed his polls and lost most of the swing states. he then rolled out a pre-loaded "stop the steal" campaign roger stone had created in 2016 but not had to use.
what you folks don't consider with the constant berating of perceived RINOs is YOU NEED THEIR VOTES. it might feel cute as an internal power play. it might work at a primary. it's a general election loser. what party runs off voters on purpose?
The largest survey of its kind since the current Israel-Hamas conflict began also shows 46 per cent of those questioned saying they sympathised with the militant group.
