Watkins looked like he was going to come off the ground he accelerated so fast! And even more amazingly, he is ranked as the #5 wide receiver recruit in the nation by ESPN and will be playing for LSU.
It's incredible that Blaylark is just a freshmen. He must have had one hell of a breakthrough in this race!
They beat Houston's winning collegiate 4x1 (39.94) by a second! Houston is no mean sprint program. I noticed Blaylock ran 3rd in the 100m, 10.62, while two other guys on the relay from Atascocita ran around 47.08 in the 400m. They also know how to coach relay handoffs to get those guys to sub 39. Sign the coach up for the U.S. Olympic 4x1 coaching.
The handoffs were excellent. That coach is doing a fantastic job maximizing his runners talents.

Second exchange wasn't amazing, but the first and third were excellent.
Time differential between runners times posted above and relay time is 3.2 seconds - that's possible with very good baton work. A pretty good team will have about a 2.5 second time different.

It is hard to fathom, number one. Two the Prs, of 100's etc do not project anything at all like this.I wonder.....

Did you not watch the video, King?
At least 3 of them have PRs well under 11.00, with the anchor closing in on 10.1 FAT in MARCH FWIW.
I checked thru their times for updates and i believe i had the wrong Blaylock. There's an older brother who just went 10.5 with 3.1 wind. It was his first meet of the year and he ran 11.2 last year but 10.7 his freshman year with both their names starting with T so i missed it.
But for refuting it: My college ran 39.5 my sophomore year with a 10.5 guy, a 10.7/21.3/46.4 guy, a 10.9, 22.2 guy, and a 10.6/21.0 guy. The HS has equal or more talented guys on it.

The WR is 40.82 for the women set in 2012. You would think the women had similar PRs (besides the 10.5) to your college team but they were pretty far off the 39.5.
FloSports taking down the vid from Youtube is bad for the sport. They started out as a good for the sport, but now like Batman they're turning into a villain.
Would be amazing if there was just a community of twitch streamers who would post live feeds at meets across the country. Quality would be > flosports now.
The PRs you are looking at are from block starts, not running starts. I had a group of HS sprinters that PRs were over 11.0, which based on your thinking had no business running sub 44 for the 4x100. They ran 42.6. It is the speed of the baton being passed that matters. While watching Humble Atascocita baton work, I was impressed at how little that baton slowed on the handoffs.

What a shame.
There have been plenty of stories floating around on here about how aggressive FloSports is over people taking/sharing videos from meet they have broadcasting rights for (including going after parents who are taking their own videos of their kid's participation). It's sad.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think the times for guys for the relay is faster than women is because the legs receiving the baton are better able to accelerate to top speed?
Records were broken? There must have been some new super sprint spikes released this year! Only way to run faster than in the past is with superior shoes.
