Drink the beer, then do the run. That’s what a real man would do

If you want to have a drink, accept the invitation. If you do not want to have a drink, decline the invitation. Not sure what the point of confusion is, here.
"What do you mean I have to drink with you?
I don't need alcohol to have a good time, or talk sh!t and act like a fool."
Having a few beers every once in a blue ain't going kill you, unless you have a super addictive personality. Let your hair down and have one. Just don't make it into a weekly or daily habit, I limit myself to once a month and a max of twice a month depending on the occasion.
You can drink more often than once or twice a month if you’re a normal drinker who can put the glass down any time. Hell, you can drink a couple beers most nights with 3-5 once a week with no real ill effects.
The question here is whether you scrap your scheduled run to drink with these people. If you’re a serious runner, the answer more often than not should be “Aw shoot sorry man, definitely some other time.” If they’re a mature, decent person they won’t hold it against you. On the other hand, it is possible to be too anal about a training plan. If you ran 10 earlier and were hoping to do another 5 in the evening to hit 100 for the week, leaving the log at 95 miles to have some beers with friends once in a while won’t ruin you.

Post about women banditing Brooklyn half marathon going viral on X
If Daniel's and Pfitz are outdated..then where do I look for modern training plans?
