Tbh we can even throw MSU in there since they are loading up on local talent lately (Hough, Norder) and there probably should be some expectation for their success sooner or later
Not a recruit or parent or coach, just a curious observer. Which school do folks on LR think develops athletes better? Any difference for mid- vs long-distance? GVSU seems to have great improvements but also high YOY injury rates. Why might this be the case? Is the UM (or MSU) system more sustainable? What are the similarities/differences in Balthes and Sully's approaches?
As a lifelong Buckeye fan, I’ve never been a fan of the Wolverines but if one of my children were admitted I would tell them to go. It’s absolutely a world class university.
OP, if you’re smart enough to get admitted to Michigan, this should be an easy decision.
Yes if academics is in the mix it's a no brainer. But in the spirit of the question, I have my concerns for big blue. Something...isn't capturing the minds of talent as of late. Good talent leaves program (vanderlende), great talent right in town goes to off to state. Osika's sis goes to state. I get losing dudek to stanford. It all makes me feel like the academics are a big draw, but something might be amiss with culture. It could all just be coincidence, michigan has trained up some extraordinary talent over the years from willis, webb, sully, flannigan, ferlic....
