You're being a bit dramatic here. The schedule change was done at least 10 days in advance so throwers had plenty of notice. From the pics it looks like they had a nice set up over at the sprint warm up area.
I think they moved it to Thursday to make sure they had enough time to take everything down. In the future they could probably move the weight throw to Friday or Saturday morning.
