It’s all over instagram from various credible sources such as Athletics Weekly, Citius Mag and more. The comments are really bizarre though because people on that app seem to have hopped on the Josh Kerr bandwagon after his stellar indoor season and are saying that Jakob is the one seeking attention and what not when most of those people were hating on Kerr after the whole sunday plodcast ordeal, and now have suddenly switched up. Regardless, I’m super excited for this match up since Kerr is in the shape of his life so far and Jakob will finally get a rematch, albeit not with the most ideal circumstances.
I'd like Jakob to win but 4+ months of no running is a long time. Probably the longest injury period of his life. Much longer than Wightman was away from running at any point last year. And Wightman was still relatively rusty this indoor season despite having a full winter of training under his belt.
I can't see past Kerr right now. I'm totally on the hype train but don't want to be.

simple.
Tbf Kerr has his own go-to: "I'm a championship guy. I've always been a championship guy. This was never the focus. I'll be ready in Paris where it matters."
We just got a press release from TrackTown USA announcing the three headliners for the Bowerman Mile at the 2024 Pre Classic on May 25: Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Josh Kerr, and Yared Nuguse.
It will be Ingebrigtsen's first race of 2024 and his first race against Josh Kerr since he was upset in the 2023 World Championship final.
Who you got???
Spencer Brown after he fasts himself down to a racing weight of 27kg
Josh Kerr has been in phenomenal shape this winter .. but what counts is the Olympics in August. Jakob will be winning in Paris, but might not come up on top in Eugene.
This is just over 10 weeks away. Are we sure Jakob will actually be fit by then given his injury? And wouldn't we expect a tune-up race as well?
He has already been training at full mileage/double threshold since February and he is going to altitude from the middle or end of march all the way until May 25th. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he will go straight from altitude to Eugene.
He is possible coming from Flagstaff as usual at that time of the year.
So this time he is at least running the Bowerman Mile without jetlag.
I'd like to see Jakob NOT take it for once - even if he doesn't win the optics aren't too bad since he's coming back from injury. Let Nuguse take it after the pacer (I don't think Kerr will)
Pre is very consistently the most disappointing race of the year four Americans, with Nike athletes phoning it in --contractually obligated to run a race that conflicts with their training schedules leading up to USAs/Trials.
