After seeing Valby run 14:52 with a big negative split leading the whole time, my gut says she can run 10-15s faster with competition/a pacer. But I can't think of any Americans that have done it to compare to.
I wonder what Valby could run in a time trial with a huge cheering crowd and pace lights, with Coach Palmer behind the scenes controlling the pace-lights.

This is kind of kidding. He has a pretty good idea what she can run. The question was asked post-race if she would run a 10000m? I gather their plans are still a bit fluid at this point.
I am racking my brain trying to think of any pro 5k races outside of the college system without pacers that are not at a championship. And then you rarely see wire to wire running.
Agate Caune soloed (basically) 15 flat at worlds prelims.

If we're going international, Klosterhalfen ran 14:26 at the 2019 German Championships.
